Jul 6, 2016 Not saying evidence of a pattern should be thrown away, it's just not hard proof that shows you that these particular cops are racists.
Jul 6, 2016 I stand by both of those statements and see no conflict between them. A history of racial discrimination by the Baton Rouge police force might lead you to assume these officers acted in a manner that warrants sentencing, but that's not sufficient enough for me or for a court I presume. If this Civil Rights case unearths some shadier s--- like they suppressed the body cam footage or something like that, good. All for it. As it stands, we're at an impasse.
Jul 6, 2016 This whole situation is f----- up. Leaving this video here in case some ignorant twelve year old comes in here saying "f--- the police", and thinks all police are psychopathic killers whom immediately s---t.
Jul 6, 2016 The video shows to me, or at the very least is enough to convince me that it's like 95% unjustifiable homicide, the only impasse I'm at now is if it had any motive or if it was just an in the moment f--- up.
Jul 6, 2016 To be clear, the overwhelming number of people, myself included, who will point out that the crime is inextricable from Sterling's race, are not arguing that the cops planned a murder of a black man. It's just that police officers in America tend to take different steps with black suspects than they do with white ones.
Jul 6, 2016 Where are you from? I'm from Canada, and the cops here might not be as bad as America, but are still f----- up. I grew up in Winnipeg and the street crime unit operated like a g---. This s--- is terrible
Jul 6, 2016 Whatever happened to shooting them in their leg? I mean in this case shooting was wrong but in general, why go for the k---? Netherlands. And sure there are cops that will stop a car with blacks before whites (which is wrong) but in a lot of cases it's just routine and the black people that get pulled over are like hey just because I'm black!!! When they are young and ride in expensive cars of course it's suspicious.. no matter what skin colour. But I believe that in America it's bad and in Canada the same thing happens, though not as bad.
Jul 6, 2016 I don't think I agree with that, I have plenty of white friends who have told me ridiculously lenient interactions with law enforcement. Meanwhile me and my other visible minority friends have not been so lucky. I didn't have my first positive interaction with a cop until I moved out of WPG, It's not as similar as you may think. Native americans are actually treated as second class citizens ironically, and in America it seems it's more hispanics and blacks that get victimized. Aside from the islamaphobia that affects most middle eastern people.
Jul 6, 2016 "but in jamaica these executions happen all the time so the importance of this issue should be none, why are you guys even surprised? it happens all the time in jamaica"
Jul 6, 2016 If you need more proof this is related to race: The police arrived at the convenience store in response to an anonymous tip about a threatening man in the parking lot. According to the store's owner, Sterling was not that man--but the BPD treated him as a threat from the jump. Do you think that happens with a white guy in an LSU sweater vest?
Jul 6, 2016 AND HERE WE GO: Video from a new angle. @Charlie http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
Jul 6, 2016 you've gotta be jumping through some serious mental hoops to come up with a conclusion that this outcome wasn't race influenced. just from the video alone you can determine a man is already well under control on the ground and was shot point blank to his death. are there really that many more variables needed when that much is already established? the variables people keep reaching for just make this more damning, imo.
Jul 6, 2016 I think some dudes just fancy themselves genius counter-culture thinkers who aren't fazed by things like the outside world.
Jul 6, 2016 @Dank Sinatra it's for sure possible that it's different there as well then. And the Islamophobia.. I kind of get that. It's far from fair to to say all muslims are bad because of terrorist groups like IS doing stuff in the name of religion, but that is fear. And it's somewhat understandable. @Lamont yes but you learn how to aim so why not do it? If it's you or him I agree (or at least get) that the cop should k--- him but a runaway? Or someone who doesn't co operate? You can s---t him somewhere else instead of killing
Jul 6, 2016 You just said it yourself. Because in a life or death situation (which the cops felt they were in because Alton "had a gun") they are going to take the fatal shot. Guns are not really used for non fatal encounters, these cops are trained to s---t to k---.
Jul 6, 2016 well yeah charlies the same guy who was trying to defend drax99 (an alt that convinced the whole site he was a pedophile), pretty sure he just does the opposite of whatever everyone agrees with to seem like he has some sort of unique and interesting perspective.
Jul 6, 2016 @Michael Myers Unjustified fear that often results in prejudice and discrimination against not just Muslims but anybody that is brown and has a beard.
