It's probably because Ronaldo is seen as selfish on the pitch. He has ambitions to be the best player in the world and for that he needs to take the glory of the team. He wants to be the one who scores.
I obviously don't know him but he seems like a really humble person off the pitch. Much like LeBron James who is the ultimate professional, but gets hated on because he complains to the refs every now and then. -
