In any civilized western country there's a system that attempts to guarantee the justice and safety of their population

Wheter the results are biased or not is a completely different conversation

One of the components of this system (law enforcement) follows the codes and rules of the above

Keeping that in mind, how can you say that all the cops that join this system should be morally held accountable for the ilegal actions and racial bias of some members that are part of it? What about the people of colour that conform it?

If you told me stuff like the war on drugs maybe you'd have a point, but this is definitely not the case

Although to be fair, one of the things Koolo argued--that there is no way to reduce the police force, or that reductions in police lead to increases in crime--is historically and demonstrably untrue. You guys are just botching this lololol

oranges and apples...give me one historically proven practice that can apply to the US size and population and their "gun laws"

it wont work lol...also we dont debate to sharping our debating skills so there is nothing to botch...you first systemically fix your country in order to have less cops...build more speeding bots..ban guns...etc

then crimes will go down naturally..then you can have less cops

Uh that's the exact conversation we've been having in this thread buddy, try not to get left behind.

Because the history of police forces in this country is no secret. Choosing to become a part of that institution makes you a representative of it. This isn't hard to understand.

Are you guys typing too fast to read, or are you just that willfully ignorant? @captain awesome has spent a bunch of this thread breaking down for you the nature of institutions and the people that comprise (not conform) them. And you come back with "What about black cops?" Jesus dude, put in some effort.

its both. you join for whatever personal reasons. you still represent law and order, community, protecting the less fortunate. there's ideals associated with being a member of law enforcement that can easily conflict with an individual's specific rationale for enlisting

but they directly linked, what your trying to do is comparing it to a country with much more advanced automatic policing that been in place for years...AND with much less crimes BEFORE they ever "cut down" on cops...its not the same thing

Uh dude are you even reading? Where did I compare America to another country to establish a working model for policing????? I'm saying that IN AMERICA there is no compelling link between increased police and decreased crime.

My Wall Street analogy was in reference to the subprime mortgage crisis. We can all (should all, at least) agree that that was a morally reprehensible system. It also paid for food. So what's your point? CA addressed this to you at length.

"The history of police forces" is widely available for anyone to know and understand and is the reason it's a morally dubious decision to choose a spot with that institution. How are you this dumb?

im not narshing you though. theres multiple professions designed to protect the public good. inherently. you can be a corrupt or unethical trader, and you haven't violated the public trust.

if you're a priest or a teacher having sex with your pupil.... that's egregious
if you're a police officer brutalizing those you swore to protect.... that's egregious
if your institution is designed to incubate you, and discourage others from reporting/stopping you.... there's a fundamental flaw there too lol
