Jul 8, 2016 Migos, Young Thug, Future, Lil Wayne, Chief Keef, Gucci Mane music so much? I understand u don't have to relate to music to enjoy it just because u are from the suburbs , never lived a street lifestyle, grew up in a middle or upper class family doesn't mean u can't enjoy music from street rappers who mainly rap about selling drugs and being Gangsters. But what is the reason? because to the black community it comes across as it's a case of trying to fit in, trying to act cool, seen as corny NWA, and 50 Cent who are Gangsta Rap have huge white fan bases most their record sales came from white people but it wasn't white hipsters it was just regular white people
Jul 8, 2016 I don't know bro, can't imagine why white people would listen to predominantly black artists in a predominantly black genre
Jul 8, 2016 By the way, your avy takes all credibility from anything you just wasted 15 minutes on typing.
Jul 8, 2016 Why do you watch Toy Story? Are you a f---in toy kunt? No you watch it because it's fun 2 escape your boring a--- life and see what it's like in the perspective of Buzz Lightyears cute a---
Jul 8, 2016 Yeah because black rappers like Jay Z, Wu Tang, Nas, Slaughterhouse, Canibus, Ice Cube, Rakim, KRS-One, Kool G Rap, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli don't exist
Jul 8, 2016 Same reason why White suburbanites started listening to Rap music in the first place. Rap and the ghetto lifestyle is the opposite of their upbringing. Plus Black music, historically, has always been seen as the taboo and cool s--- to listen to. Nowadays, you also have the meme component, where people listen to music ironically. If you think about it, it's not like the 90s or 2000s where you had rampant wiggerdom throughout the country. These hipster kids are White suburbanite to their cores but listen to trap. They no longer have to shed their true identities to enjoy the music.
Jul 8, 2016 Anything with sufficient artisitc merit can be appreciated by any demograhic, from any culture. I assume there might be an aspect of being 'hip' or 'cool'. But meh, why the f--- does drake use my country as a f---ing meme, and why does that sellout b---- popcaan allow him to. And why the f--- do you american's buy into it, without any knowldge or interest in jamaican lifestyle. People shouldn't have to identify with music to enjoy it, which is why i? a jamaican kid, much prefer's the white boy, than other black rappers.
Jul 8, 2016 cause they can genuinely enjoy it the same as anyone else? f--- u mean what's the reason lol
Jul 8, 2016 To be fair, all artists he named in the OP are praised by the white suburbanite people he's questioning.
Jul 8, 2016 I listen to music because I like the sound of it. Don't care about relating to it, if I enjoy it that's good enough for me
Jul 8, 2016 Great music is great music. I think there's some escapism to it tho, but it's not wrong to like something you don't relate too
