    Main Card (FOX)-8 P.M. ET

Holly Holm (#2 WBW) vs Valentina Shevchenko (#7 WBW)
Edson Barboza (#6 LW) vs Gilbert Melendez
    Francis Ngannou vs Bojan Mihajlovic
    Felice Herrig vs Kailin Curran

    Prelims (FOX)-6 ET

Frankie Saenz (#12 BW) vs Eddie Wineland (#15 BW)
Darren Elkins (#11 FW) vs Godofredo Pepey
    Kamaru Usman vs Alexander Yakovlev
    Michel Prazeres vs J.C. Cottrell

    Prelims (Fight Pass)-4:30 ET

    Alex Oliveira vs James Moontasri
    Jim Alers vs Jason Knight
    Luis Henrique vs Dmitry Smoliakov

Wasn't the best FOX card when Rumble vs Glover was still on it, but without that fight its probably one of the worst FOX shows.

After seeing the recent pics of Ronda I think its safe to say that Holly will get the next title shot and if she loses we get the UFC nightmare scenario of Nunes vs Pena.

Basic a--- rundown. All odds are from 5 dimes...

Holly Holm (-200) vs Valentina Shevchenko (+185)

Interesting style match up between two of the best strikers in WMMA, but can't help but feel like this one has disappointment written all over it. Valentina is a counter striker and Holly likes to keep her distance and point fight.

    prediction=Holly by somewhat close decision

    Holly's infamous Ronda KO

Edson Barboza (-215) vs Gilbert Melendez (+195)

Barboza is coming off the best win of his career where he dominated Anthony Pettis and Melendez is coming off a year long PED suspension after a close loss to champ Eddie Alvarez. I think Gil is on the decline and Barboza is on the rise.

    Prediction:Barboza by lopsided decision

Etim's KO of Terry Etim (best KO in UFC history for my money)

Francis Ngannou (-605) vs Bojan Mihajlovic (+505)

Ngannou is probably the most exciting HW prospect in the UFC right now, dude is an absolute power house. Don't know much about his Serbian opponent, seems like your run-of-the-mill debuting Euro HW. Ngannou did not look great early in his first fight, but looked much more polished against another hyped HW prospect Curtis Blaydes in his 2nd fight

    Prediction: Ngannou first round massacre

Ngannou uppercut vs Luis Henrique in his debut

Felice Herrig (-105) vs Kailin Curran (-105)

Felice's first fight back since she got beaten down by PVZ back in April 2015. She has a Kickboxing background but has seemed more interested in getting fights to the ground as of late. Curran is kind of a brawler, every fight she has been in has been entertaining especially her debut against PVZ where she had her moments. Kailin tends to have mental lapses that have cost her late in fights.

    Prediction: Felice 3rd round submission

Herrig's armbar of Lisa Ellis in her UFC debut

Eddie Wineland (+140) vs Frankie Saenz (-160)

Striker vs grappler matchup. Wineland is a true vet of the lower weight classes, right up there with Faber. He won the inaugural BW Title in WEC. And while Eddie is on the decline and Frankie is on his way up, i think Eddie has the TDD to keep this one on the feet and hurt Frankie.

prediction: Wineland by 2nd round TKO

Wineland slam KO of Ken Stone at WEC 53, the last WEC event.

Darren Elkins (-215) vs Godofredo Pepey (+195)

Elkins is your classic grinder and Pepey is BJJ black belt who is flashy with both his subs and strikes. In the past Pepey has had trouble with the hard hitters, Elkins isn't really that guy.

Prediction: Pepey by 2nd round submission

Pepey's flying knee against Noad Lahat

Pepey's flying triangle (tapped him a few seconds later)

Kamaru Usman (-235) vs Alexander Yakovlev (+215)

Battle of the grinders, Yakovlev is probably the more well rounded of the two but Kamaru is a D2 NCAA Wrestling Champ. Yakovlev has some good wins including one over Paul Daley, but i think Usman's wrestling will be too much for him to handle.

    Prediction: Usman by decision

    Yakovlev's KO over George Sullivan

    Michel Prazeres (-220) vs J.C. Cottrell (+200)

Prazeres is a BJJ black belt who is built like a tank at 5'6" LW. Hes one of those guys who you know juices or was on the sauce, looked pretty bad in his last fight (first of the USADA era) and should have lost. Guy always gasses late in fights, he does somehow have a LNP win over Mairbek Taisumov (who is one of the most underrated LW's imo), but that was a while ago and Taisumov was supposedly hurt going into that one. Anyways don't know much about his opponent other then most of his wins are by submission.

Prediction: Based on pretty much nothing im going by Cottrell by decision or late GNP TKO after Prazeres gasses.

Alex Oliveira (-210) vs James Moontasri (+190)

Great match up between two strikers who have won mostly by KO. Moontasri is a 5th Dan black belt in Taekwondo and Oliveira has a Muay Thai background. Both have submission wins on their records but i would say Brazilian Cowboy is a little better there and I think he takes the fight there eventually and gets a submission

Prediction: Oliveira by 2nd round Submission

Moontastri's KO over Jordan Rinaldi at RFA 15 that got him into the UFC

    Oliveira's KO over Piotr Hallman

Jim Alers (-170) vs Jason Knight (+160)

Alers is the former Cage Warriors FW champ. He was supposed to fight McGregor but he obviously ended up signing with the UFC and the Alers won the Vacant FW Title. I had pretty high expectations for him coming into the UFC, but he hasn't really lived up to them. Knight is a Titan FC vet who has won most of his fights by submission, he took his debut with Kawajiri on super short notice so i don't put to much stock in that fight.

    Prediction: Alers decision

Dmitry Smoliakov (-145) vs Luis Henrique (+135)

Smoliakov is another debuting Russian HW who is 8-0 with all his wins coming by 1st round stoppage (4 KO/4 subs), seems well rouned but don't know a lot about him. Henrique is coming off that vicious KO to Ngannou that i posted earlier and just in general isn't very impressive.

Prediction: Smoliakov by first round KO

couldn't give a s--- about the main, but I'm stoked for Barboza/Melendez. Edson should chew him up, I haven't ever really been impressed by Gil

I'm pretty high on Ngannou too, hope this dude can shake up the HW landscape a bit. Plus Kailin Curran is sexy af yeah I'll watch this

Gonna watch most if not all of the main card, maybe some of the prelim stuff but not yet. Hoping Holm wins, would like to see Holm/Ronda again at some point.

s--- I was in the wrong thread before...

Anyways, best part of the night so far is them announcing UFC Portland, oh s---. Definitely wasn't expecting to go to a UFC show anytime soon, so this is a nice surprise. Gonna almost definitely go to it even though I'm sure it'll be expensive.

I dunno which of the 2 debuting HW's was more pathetic tonight Mihajlovic or Smoliakov. Neither should get a 2nd fight imo...

CM PUNK!! Not surprised he's there. Wonder if they thought about putting his debut at this Chicago show, his back injury may have messed it up. Or they wanted to save it for PPV.

Edson has ruthless kicks man, shocked Melendez was able to walk out of the ring.

I think Holly gets the KO tonight.

Holly looked like hot dogshit in there. Her awful grasp on distance was only compounded by Shevchenko's masterful control of it. Bullet was pretty sharp on the counters (even if she spammed the right) and looked better in a 5 rounder than she ever has in 3 (dat nakmuay pacing ). Holm went full Condit and threw everything 3 feet short of the mark. An absolute slave to diversity with all of those karate kicks. Shev did throw an axe kick at one point, but her spinning back fists and superman punches were actually threatening. The few times she initiated the exchanges she looked great. Especially the jab.
Overall, I enjoyed the fight more than I thought I would. Reminiscent of Wonderboy-MacDonald. For the uninitiated:

Holly is probably the clearest case of PED abuse outside of men's heavyweight and Cyborg. She's absolutely wrecked her hormones and physique with it even if she is clean now. Not a fan of the eye test, but chicks are super easy to spot after a decade of drugs. Imean it's either that or undesdended testicles. No clue how she manages 135 and absolutely towers over her competition. Her age has to be catching up to her. Hard not to pity this rough stretch she's having though. She's so broken in the post fight interviews.

Happy to see Eddie get the win and POTN bonus, I know hes still working full time as a Firefighter...

Fully expecting him to get fed to a Lineker or Dodson next though.

Herrig won 50K for performance of the night, my buddy also fights for Team Curran with her, said he made her pay for his drinks all night at the after party. smart!
