It'd be amazing if Stevie Little played a character in this show. He came out of nowhere and was probably the funniest character on EB&D to me.

Walton Goggins continues to shine even in limited screen time lol.

It's not really the successor to EB&D. It's a completely different premise. That said, it is funny, but nowhere near as funny as Eastbound. However Walton Goggins has shined in the first two episodes. I've always thought he was underrated having watched his two shows with his biggest roles (Justified & The Shield).

I know it's only 18 episodes, and they've already filmed them all. It's supposed to be split into two seasons for Fall and Spring. That being said, I expect it to get better. It's very slow paced but I'm liking the development of Lee Russell being a sadistic MFer. I think this will end up being pretty funny. But if you go in expecting Eastbound & Down, you're definitely gonna be disappointed.

Neil is so delusional, that it's always hilarious when he goes off on these incorehent tirades, ,to prove how he's better than whoever he's arguing with...

In this episode, after he gets through making fun of that chick teacher who loves him, his wife butt dials him, and he's like "Ya'll at the race?" and his ex says somethin about their daughter avancing, and then Neil just retorts with "Big whoop. I knew you were just calling to make me sad, but guess what? f--- you. Cause I'm not sad. Best Teacher's Workday I've EVER had at school, and EVERYONE'S laughing at my jokes! So there, enough!" And it iwasn't until he hung the phone up that I realized he was still sitting at the table LOLOL.

When Belinda introduces Lee to her sons, his reaction is hilarious. "Oh, well... Strong genes. One of em' looks like Will Smith, and the other one, he uh.... well... I bet he's real nice."

Walton kills it with s--- like that. The insincere politeness and genuinely any scene where Lee has to pretend to be nice, key word pretend, cause he has no idea how to do it for real.

kind of bold assertion, but im a big fan of mcbride and jody hill that i wont not allow it. my thing is eastbound was sooo driven by kenny, he was such an amazing character. vice principals - if u can believe - is more assemble and character driven. neil isn't as memorable but hes much more subtle.

besides wryly sending up what being a school admin/teacher is rly like (awesome place of satire) i rly think its a show about emasculated males. kind of the anti-kenny which wasnt evident to me for a bit

It brought Neal and Lee back together to make their forces stronger than ever. That ending was f---ing great.

Not every episode can be solely about taking down Dr. Brown. Glad they're exploring character backgrounds and building depth.
