But again, being qualified for something is about more than taking the right positions in the abstract. It's why Jill Stein is a joke. Bernie can shout from the fringes all he wants but he has no meaningful experience and--far, far more importantly, as I pointed out earlier in this thread--showed a rigidity in his thinking and refusal to evolve in his understanding. When a candidate is shaky on his understanding of the Middle East 10 months before the convention, it worries me; when he hasn't changed by two months before the convention, it disqualifies him imo.

This is honestly the most frustrating part of political discourse in America. The fact that anyone could look at stuff like this and not just excuse the problem, but deny it exists, is a major reason we have so many social issues.

first point fair enough. im speaking pretty broadly

progress: post World War II global economic boom (rise of the middle class in the US), American space travel, Eisenhower highway system, passage of civil rights, broadening of protection for the sick (or women, disabled, or lg community, etc), discovery of new ways to combat illnesses, significant technological advancement. i think most of these immediate gains were achieved bc we had a generation of national leaders who could work together and understood what was at stake to make this a better world. ofc im overstating things a bit, but i think the common denominator was the draft/civil service/military service

um... I'm not denying that sexism, or racism, exists. I'm denying that laughing at a video of a presidential candidate barking, should be considered sexist. thats ridiculous.

Sexism means treating somebody different because of their gender.

An example of treating women differently might be turning up your nose at a woman's Secretary of State role while defending a candidate who doesn't know what Hamas is.

or you could dislike hillary for other, policy oriented reasons, that have nothing to do with her gender.

Maybe it's the knowledge to understand that Trump's policy proposals (at least the few he's consistent with) will not work. But I would say it has more to do with maturity. Only immature people blame their unhappiness on others (Immigrants, Hispanics, foreign countries). E.g- 14 year old me who still didn't know how to communicate with people watching tyt to point his anger with himself to banks and corporations.

That's a hot tip kid. Someone obviously shared John Kasich's quote on your Facebook wall or something, lol. Run along and listen to what the cool celebrities tell you what to do.

Well, I'm pretty sure Trump's stance towards police brutality will affect black people.
