Ttbh UU was never gonna be as great as Tpab... it's basically a bunch of throwaways that didn't make it on Tpab, but its great nonetheless

Tpab by a large margin. It's his most diverse album stylistically and sonically so there's more to dig into and discover with each listen.

UU is really good but it's kdot's worst project so far, and I'm not even sure if I would consider it as a standalone project.

Tpab. I love untitled but even though it has more radiofriendly songs, I just haven't played it as much as I did Tpab.

Even though I was always a vocal TPAB detractor, I actually think it's held up better than I expected. All of my original complaints still stand, and it's far from being a perfect album, but it's a good listen every once in a while.

UU doesn't have the highs or lofty ambitions of TPAB, but in some ways its rougher edges give it a charm that's totally lacking on TPAB (whose primary problem in my eyes was its eagerness to please at any cost).

So in other words...while I would suspect most people would choose TPAB in a landslide, I personally think it's a draw, and my answer depends on when you ask me. Today, right now, probably UU.

Tpab. s--- is timeless music, great album from beginning to end, probably kendrick's best work to this day.
UU was good for what it was, but had too many songs with unnecessary endings.

I don't know if they're throwaways songs. They fit the album but at the same time they don't. The albums have the same ideas but the feels are different. They just feel like 2 completely different projects to me.
Still, Tpab is a lot more layered, amore polished, it's just better to me.

Topping Tpab is such an impossible feat to do, this album is perfect in many ways.

From an artistic standpoint, the album's strenght is the music: the composition, the production, kendrick's ability to incorporate variations forms of classic music in his rap (only pharoahe monch doing that, and now young thug).
Kendrick really went back to the various stages of black music. This album features both the rhythmic spoken word & classic/traditional poetry that were both used outside of mainstream jazz music few decades ago. Despite not being used by white artists trying to popularize jazz in the mainstream, these aspects of jazz music still influenced early hip hop. This album can really be described as a "black" album, all of it, and it was done extraordiry well imo
