Aug 3, 2016I don't know how many people here are into hitting the gym or working out in general but for those who do, hop in.
I started working out when I was like 14 and for about 2-3 years I was really off and on about it. In the past two years I got more serious with it, I hit the gym at least 5-6 times a week now. I was one rep maxing 215 on bench when I was 16 and now I'm hitting 285 at 18. I'm hoping to hit 300 within the next 2 months. I injured my rotator cuff a few weeks back so I've been going a little easy on chest days.
What does your normal routine look like? I'm going to have to switch up my workouts soon because I feel I'm going to be hitting a plateau. Also, the other day, my friend had this pre-workout s--- which I never have really used before but I figured I'd try it, I took like 2-3 scoops more than the recommended and I was tingling, it felt weird but good in some sense and I was able to get a good session in. I don't plan on using it regularly though, not really my thing.
What gym do you guys go to? I had a membership at planet fitness for a week before I cancelled that s---, f--- that place. I ended up joining LA Fitness, it drained my pockets with the down payments but it's definitely worth it. After the initial signup fees, it's only $30 a month. They have a pool, sauna, and basketball court. Never used the pool or sauna before but I love the courts they have. As long as you go before 4 PM, it's nice. Any time after that and the place is absolutely packed.

I'm doing high frequency training right now. Monday, tuesday an friday I squat or do a variation (pause, front, pin squat), wednesday thursday and friday I deadlift or do a variation (Paused deadlift, stiff leg, deficit). I also bench every day (incline, regular, blench block, close grip and legs up bench). So I do lower and upperbody daily. I'm finishing up my 3rd week of this program and max out in another 3, hoping to hit 550 on squat, 335 on bench for a pause and 550 on deadlift.mwarmst, Final, Groovy Tony and 1 other person like this. -

I'm an actor, and more and more it's getting to the point where if you don't look jacked and sculpted from the Gods you won't get work, so in my first year of college (second semester actually) I started going to the gym and putting together a routine.
Arms and back one day, chest and legs the next (but I do skip legs sometimes cuz I have to dance and s--- at school) and then abs and twenty mins of cardio everyday (save for one rest day). At chest, I started off at doing five sets of five at 95, and that was early Februry. Now, as of yesterday, I can do five sets of five at 185.
I also just do a s--- ton of pull-ups in my house because I have a bar on my bathroom door and I've forced myself to never go to the bathroom or use the bathroom unless I do five pull-ups to get in. I love working out and the gym. Wish I had gotten into it soonermwarmst, Final, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this. -

I do light gym work.
Bench 225lbs for 3 sets of 10, push downs for 3 sets of 15, pull downs for 3 sets of 15, and I do 2 different versions of 21's with a curl bar for 3 sets with 65 lbs.
Probably should add dips and pull ups to my routine but eh...
I go real light with my legs though because of my ankle. Just squats, calf raises, lunges and cardio. My legs are big, so I don't really need to focus on them much. I still can dunk, so I'm happy with it lol.
When I played football, my routine was way more detailed, but I try to keep it really simple and fast now. I don't have the time anymore.mwarmst, Final, Groovy Tony and 1 other person like this. -

I always go immediately after work during the week so my current routine is:
Monday - Arms
Tuesday - Legs
Wednesday - Chest
Thursday - Beach / rest
Friday - Back & Shoulders
It's a modified version of one I grabbed off BB.com but looking to set my own up once I figure out how to properly do that.
Generally start off all days with 10-20 minutes of cardio and about 30 minutes of heavy bag or mit work (if my man happens to be there that day and not working with other people) after cardio or after my workout. -

I got to get back to a gym
I love it when I go and honestly can't beat the feeling after but if I break the routine no matter how slightly I find it so difficult to get back into.
Haven't been for a couple months now put on a bit of weight and got into bad eating habits again.
Gonna look at the best gyms near me again but not many great options.
Will post again if I actually get back into a gym -

I work 4 10 hour shifts now so just don't have time/energy to go during those 4 days. So I try to force myself to go to the gym all 3 of my days off and I usually do.
My routine always starts with smoking a bowl in the parking lot lol, I get more into the music and workout that way. Then after stretches I usually do cardio for about a half hour, basketball for a little after that and then weights. I do weights twice a week, skipping the middle day. On the middle day I'll usually just do more basketball and sometimes swimming in addition to one of the machines for cardio.
I'd like to think I could eventually start going 1 of the 4 days I work too, but too d--- lazy for it now.
