Aug 12, 2016 I played soccer my whole life. Currently play for Buffalo State, a D3 program but honestly there's not much of skill gap between D1 and D2 or D3, its more of how much you're dedicated to the sport imo. We have several D1 transfers that play for our team and ive been lucky enough to play with many talented players through my youth who have made it to elite D1 programs, MLS, and even overseas. Im actaully currently on an Enlgand tour with our team getting prepared for our pre season. We've played AFC Wembley and Bournemouth U18's in the past few days. Lost 3-2 and won 4-3. We are also training with Portsmouth U18's tomorrow morning. Expectations for our season are to win our conference (SUNYAC) and get a bid into the tournament. Glad to have played soccer because its allowed me to travel all around the US and now England and meet people who I've never thought i get a chance to see. Going to see Southampton vs Watford tomorrow for the opening day of the premier league as well. Even though i play soccer, basketball is my favorite sport and I love playing it more than soccer, it was my first passion and probably would have taken it more seriously if I was taller lol.
Aug 12, 2016 Probably too late at this point for me. I have a good f/t job right now, been looking at apartments lately as well, gonna have my own place within the next month. I was really conflicted at the end of school because I could have went and played D2 ball at Bloomsburg, Shippensburg, Millersville, or Kutztown but just wanted to be done school cuz it really isn't for me. I almost went to Bloom because my cousin is a Defensive End up there so I was gonna go just to play with him but then backed out.
Aug 12, 2016 Itt a bunch of dudes who will lie about being all state or team captain or hitting some shot and gettigg carried off court and getting BJs from the whole female alumni And a few who were actually pretty decent
Aug 12, 2016 Congrats thats dope as h---! I say give it some more thought, I used to think school wasn't for me either but those were just excuses it was me just being lazy and distracted. It's never a bad idea investing in something that could give you more doors of opportunity if you put the effort in. Plus sports are always something that's productive. The experience alone was worth it if you ask me.
Aug 12, 2016 American soccer is s--- brah Watch La liga(spain) or bundesliga(germany). Even low end bundesliga matches are top quality watches. Also, most high level players are not by any means soft. Neymar is soft but he will run miles. The game focuses more on stamina and balance (and ball control) but the game is very physical . There's a reason america's best players is one of their physically strongest and plays defense. Football is a game where with enough skill you can get away with being weak (neymar, again) but it's very rough. The best strikers in history (messi being an exception) are very strong and aggressive players Zlatan, R7,R9 etc
Aug 12, 2016 Growing up, I got put in everything from gymnastics to figure skating. By the time HS hit, I stuck with the soccer team, and now in college I only do intramural so my gpa actually stays up
Aug 13, 2016 Started wheelchair soccer, hockey and touch rugby when I was 13. The competition has all types of wheelchair users from manuals to gigantic power wheelchairs and small but speedy go-kart like chairs. It's not really all about speed as it is spacing and getting into first position as I've found out over the years. Won MVP for soccer a few years back and was leading scorer two years in a row. Favourite sport would have to be touch rugby as it's more about your court awareness to break through the defense instead of just speed. The opportunity to be a part of the state team has always been there but I can't travel by airplane and I haven't really thought about doing it.
Aug 13, 2016 I might actually suss out a plan to see if I can actually travel. State competition is annually held in Sydney early April. Who knows how many more years I can actually play I might make a fist of it before I lose the ability to play.
Aug 13, 2016 How long have i been sleeping on hajime no ippo? Is it worth the watch from scratch? never started it for some reason.
Aug 13, 2016 Ippo is f---ing great. The first season (The Fighting) has 79 episodes. Then you have a movie and an OVA to watch before you commence with the second season (New Challenger). After that go watch the third season (Rising). Once that's done browse through to chapter 500 and something not sure where exactly. From there you'll have about 600 chapters to read. That or just read from the start. That's what I did and I loved it.
Aug 13, 2016 Sadly I am not very good. But I am pretty active it sports. Played a lot of Cricket, Soccer, Aussie Rules and still play Basketball. When we had athletic carnivals at school I was pretty good at the jumping events but now lost that ability after I broke my foot I was a decent bowler in cricket, got 5 wickets once and nearly a hattrick on another occasion. I wish I was good at basketball
