The Final Round is Over!
It took @threee weeks but we've finally found a worthy winner of the Official Blonde Elimination Game!

It is with great pleasure that I announce that 'Self Control' is the winner of the game! 'Nights' comes in as runner up with it losing by the smallest of margins.

Who would've thought that Nights would be defeated at the death considering the overall favouritism for the splendid track that situated in the middle of the album of the year!

Just goes to show how great of a track Self Control is. The outro is most definitely the highlight of the year for many including myself. Otherworldly is one way to describe it. And who'd have thought YUNG LEAN would add a layer of depth to the track? I certainly didn't considering the different vibes from Lean's usual rapping.

So there you have it folks. Self Control wins in a thrilling contest. I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone who voted throughout the game and for being patient with me during days where I've either forgotten about this game or was busy to tally the votes. Perhaps we could do channel ORANGE next...

Self Control won but the real winner was us fans as we were blessed to listen to this wonderful album by Frank.

WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL FRANK OCEAN 'BLONDE' ELIMINATION GAME!

It's been a good month since this beautiful album came out. Fair to say it'll be in the running for AOTY across all genres. Personally speaking I honestly think this album is better than channel ORANGE but only just. For the day one Frank fans, it has been a long and agonising four years since his acclaimed channel ORANGE album was released. For others, it hasn't been as long of a wait but it's hard not to be swept and caught up in the constant hype and mystique that surrounded Ocean since mid last year when the tentatively titled Boys Don't Cry was being rumoured to be released in July 2015. A year and a bit later and finally, we got it delivered to us.

But I digress. With enough time passed between the album itself being released and giving you guys ample time to soak in all the intricacies of the project, it's time for the elimination process to begin!

Like others before me (shoutout @Jordan and @Jakey), I'll be following their rules for this game.

I love it though, just an exceptional example of Frank's penmanship and his ability to cover many facets of his life conceptually with the solo/so low double entendre. 'Nikes' gets cut! The wonderful introduction to this magnificent album has done well to last this long. Perhaps it should've lasted longer, but the people have spoken! One of the more polarising singles in Frank's career, this song utilised a pitch shift for the first verse/half of the song and touched on materialistics and topics of pleasure and life.

ROUND 2 IS OVER!
The next song to be eliminated is 'Good Guy', with it garnering 40% of the votes. Four songs were voted up for elimination but it was this minute-long interlude-y track that had to go. Reflective in nature is this track, Frank shares a private moment to the listener where he talks about his blind date with another man in NY hoping to look for more than a one nighter and perhaps a strong relationship. The sad realisation that the other party had different intentions sinks in towards to the end of his verse. Personally speaking I do feel like this track served as a good breather between the highly emotive Self Control and the dual-sided Nights.

Quite possibly my favourite track on the album is now gone... 'Ivy' was the majority vote to be outed. This song's an absolute beauty with it's ability to evoke strong feelings and nostalgic power, making the listener reflect and feel melancholic. Jamie XX's production was just top notch on this song and Frank's emotion and chaos at the end of the song just adds to the atmosphere. I thought that I was dreaming, when you guys voted this out.

'Pink + White' is gone. Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe this song. Pharrell is a f---ing genius for this arranged production, and Queen Bey's backing vocals throughout the track just lifts this song up a notch. On a good day I might even consider this a top three track on the album such is it's quality, but regardless the majority have spoken. Regard my dear, it's all downhill from here.

ROUND 4 IS OVER!
'Skyline To' gets the boot! With 50% of the votes it becomes the fourth song eliminated (sixth song overall). A melting pot of thoughts, Frank touches on drugs and sex as well as reflecting on the season passed. The song exhibits your typical "end of summer nostalgia" feeling to it. Kendrick Lamar is supposedly linked to this song through writing credits and perhaps slight backing vocals in the second verse. This song seemingly blends together a lot with Solo (the track before this one) and Self Control. All three in my opinion are songs to come down to before the glorious Nights takes us on a journey.
