That drake line was bad, Cudi just calling it as he sees it and we don't know the full story so we can't make a full judgement

Assuming MOTM would not have been acceptable without Kanye releasing 808's. AKNC was released before 808's & was very widely acclaimed . Also this myth about about Kanye being inflectional in Cudi's first 2 albums is false. Plain Pat & Emile are the guys who were responsible in helping Cudi develop his sound not Kanye. Kanye was the one influenced by AKNC to release 808's.

Kanye is one of the greatest artists of all time

But in most eras, he's used somebody for inspiration...

    Grad was Sean

    808's was Cudi

    Yeezus was Travis

    And TLOP was Chance

The albums would be completely different if not for these artists. 808's wouldn't have been nearly as influential if Cudi wasn't involved

AKNC and 808s don't sound the same at all. While AKNC gained steam in the MySpace/blog era, Cudi would have never blown up to the heights he did with MOTM if Kanye didn't push the emotional rap to the forefront of the genre. Fact.

Not even gonna address this because it's not true. Why haven't any of these rappers made a project as good as the ones they supposedly got used for? Besides chance but I don't believe TLOP has any chance influence besides a couple songs

crazy how kanye can use artists as inspiration and have that project end up better than anything that artist has ever done

Koolo confirmed near TLOP's album release that ULB, FSMH, Waves, and a few others had Chance reference tracks

The quality of the used artists projects not living up is debatable, like everything else in music discussion

Production is entirely different. And sure I know there was some Cudi influence in 808s, but not as much's stated
