Sep 20, 2016 What happens when it just all becomes just too irrelevant? Rap is moving so fast now. Day to Day there is a new 'no1', media has completely ruined rap. Most rappers now don't need any skills or knowledge of the game. All they need is a gimmick. I remember when Eminem first came out and the "white skin" issue became a gimmick he played on it. Now wearing dresses and been deliberately wack is the new trend. These new rappers don't understand a d--- thing. It's all twitter this n twitter that. The poster boy for a generation is a silver-spooned, Canadian half white actor. It used to be a black poet from the ghetto. The rose that grew from concrete. I don't blame kids for the state of hiphop but we ain't to blame either. It's Facebook, Twitter, hiphop websites that have no idea what hiphop means to people. The image now is to only care about money but I guarantee that less than 1% of members on here are privileged enough to through money in the air. We basically STOPPED relating because there was nothing to relate to. I don't know what can be done but these twitter beefs ain't the way forward. It's really immature. Real men would fight it out, so the ironic thing about it all is that each time they post, they think it makes them more of a man. It's a game anymore. Rappers now get paid, not in cash But in Popularity.
Sep 20, 2016 Its not that serious.....based on the Eminem reference I'm assuming you're closer to 30 than 20... The music's just not for you anymore..... There's other genres out there my man expand
Sep 20, 2016 Remember when you were younger and thought those real raps were some deep important s--- for the soul your dad still just thought they were a bunch of dumb black kids. Its a generational thing. The music is no longer for you.
Sep 20, 2016 The thought of someone being in their 30s listening to rap or even older is weird as f---. Especially if it's the stuff that's popular here.
Sep 20, 2016 There's an insane amount of talent right now in rap were taking a really good direction imo Just look at ppl like kodak, vince, thug etc.
Sep 20, 2016 Thug is part of the problem to him....he's a lost cause Kodak really trash though. He can't make a good full length project he just has the occasional gem
Sep 20, 2016 Listening to 90's rap and dismissing current music as not being "real" doesn't make you seem smart or insightful. You're just doing what Yachty and his friends did but in reverse. Ignorance is a two way street.
Sep 20, 2016 Like there's still plenty of lyrical miracles being made every day, but don't be mad at artists like Yachty and Thug just because the general public doesn't want to get lectured when they listen to music.
