Was just thinking this while listening to Yeezus on my way home yesterday. Specifically Blood On The Leaves (not even my favorite Yeezus track) is lightyears beyond everything on TLOP; yes even ULB.

Even at the Saint Pablo tour, BOTL seemed to have the pull the most energy from the crowd. Yeezus is crazy. Every song has layer after layer of depth. It's a beautiful, chaotic audio masterpiece.




That being said, I think the TLOP era Kanye is my favorite Kanye. He's been everywhere in 2016.

• Famous Video
• Entire Taylor controversy and Kim releasing Snapchat proof causing Taylor to spiral into deep depression.
• Drake / Chance collab rumors
• New Adidas partnership
• Pop up merch sales
• Champions + Cruel Winter announcement
• Fade video + VMA speech
• Kid Cudi beef
• Yeezy Season 4
• Saint Pablo Tour breaks every attendance and merch record (possibly the best tour of all time).
• Randomly getting Instagram
• Basically trending the entire year.

This was all off the top of my head, probably missed so much more. Kanye really solidified himself as the GOAT artist in 2016.


Kanye's life is live performance art. At what point does the artist's life transcend beyond an album? The Life of Pablo is just a small part of the modern Kanye era. Following his every move has been exponentially more entertaining than TLOP ever was.

Bonus: The entire "I Feel Like" visual style is also my favorite out of Kanye's history of art direction (Yeezus was great too though).

I'm agreeing with you that it's still GOAT, I just felt like you were pointing out the obvious, like you're trying to go against the grain or something.
