Oct 8, 2016 Opinion on hip-hop is opinion regardless of your race. In fact there are more white listeners who understand the intricacies of hip-hop so it kind of makes the opinions feel more worthwhile and valued.
Oct 8, 2016 No ones opinions on music have much relevance to anyone but themselves, but if someone is uncultured then that will affect the legitimacy of their opinion. A black person could be living a suburban white boy life and a white person could grow up in Brooklyn in the 80s and watch the evolution of hip hop culture first hand while being looked down upon despite not being a minority. But then again I'm white so......
Oct 8, 2016 I feel like it shouldn't lose credibility, but there will always be a perspective that you can't 100% relate to when it comes to music like TPAB or some of the Roots discography. Not that you can't appreciate it regardless or relate to various things within, but not the aspect of being an African-American and what life is like because of it
