Oct 29, 2016 Both sides have some good arguments imo. By the way I'm not talking about dumbass memes or other childish s---, hence why I labeled this thread as serious. On one hand - you get in contact with people you would never get in touch with otherwise - it helps people to actually get in touch with people - you can share things with more people at once and talk to people far away - information can be shared with big groups. For example when a person is missing, lots of people get the message and can look out for him/her On the other hand - if you look at parties/concerts/festivals lots of people are looking at their phone instead of talking to eachother. - People are more concerned with sharing pictures and video's of events they're at instead of enjoying them - Some are tough guys on social media, but are scared to talk to people irl - Social isolation: they are living in the online world and ignore real people/conversations - it can be very dangerous if you don't watch out what information you share (like young people posting their location etc) What is your take on it?
Oct 29, 2016 Forum sites are the most addicting which is bad but I like Facebook because there's where I find out where all the parties are around my city and I message certain people on there That's mainly it I avoid looking at peoples stuff I never comment like or share anything I never interact with random s--- I just focus on my own priorities which includes s--- posting on forums I suppose
Oct 29, 2016 They are useful tools to build your brand and keep in touch with people when used in moderation but even then every time you get 1000 retweets on Twitter you are making Twitter money, not yourself. Facebook has been proven to make people depressed. People spend time faking their ideal self online rather than working toward their actual ideal self. For example, actual happy couples don't need to constantly share how happy they are on Facebook because they're already happy.
Oct 29, 2016 I use Twitter to play devil's advocate and go against everything I see people I know talking about because it amuses me
Oct 29, 2016 i used to use them alot more than i do now, still use snapchat pretty heavily, but ya im more addicted to checking this site than those
Oct 29, 2016 I'ma put you on game, for the lames that don't know, they're a rookie Instagram is the best way to promote get some p----
Oct 29, 2016 Snapchat is dope too, but IG lets you hook up with girls you only know through mutual friends and in passing in my experience.
Oct 29, 2016 As with most things, anything is fine in moderation. I deleted Facebook when it became a place for parents to play Farmville. I deleted Twitter when I stopped finding it entertaining. The internet is mainly where I converse with strangers about topics that I enjoy more than the people that I know in real life. Using it for people I already know felt redundant.
Oct 29, 2016 This is why I've never felt like a loser for being on forums and having "online friends". Hard to find people as involved or as invested as you IRL on any topic outside of sports imo.
Oct 29, 2016 Yeah, my friends will never understand the biochemical rush of shitposting about Eminem.
Oct 29, 2016 Only social media I have an account on is fb. And I don't think it affected my life in a negative way. It's the easiest way to contact people or get new info about stuff so I really like it. I'm not a person who shares every aspect of my life with other people, I don't really post anything there But I know people who put social media over real life, I don't stay in touch with them anymore though. Snapchat is the worst s--- ever. It's like the deep web of social media where people can go nuts and completely dgaf. Instagram is fine for posting some nice or creative pictures, but all those ig thots are nothing but trouble
Oct 29, 2016 Very good point. Or the people who post their entire life on facebook or whatever. They desperately seek for attention. If you are truly happy/satisfied with your life why do you need everyone to know and give you a 'like'?
Oct 29, 2016 Contrary to popular belief I do have friends Buff. I'm not a basement dwelling moderator f--- outta here.
