    Future and Young Thug don't mumble either tho, they do it just as often as Kanye West does so I don't understand why these rappers need the label "mumble rap" put under their music

    Yeah, well Snoop was probably high and forgot that he had a feature on Pluto lol

    First of all, Thug's and Future are extremely different in terms of delivery
    Here's another funny thing, Snoop loves Future and I haven't seen the interview, but i could say that when he was talking about "this type of rap", he might've been talking about Lil Yachty for example, which further goes with my point that we shouldn't be using these kinda f---ing tags because people use it for their own interpretations and stereotypes while lacking information

    It's a thread for an album by a popular rapper that comes out on friday, of course there are tons of people liking posts. Just because they disagree with you and agree with me doesn't mean they're circle jerking. Have you ever thought that maybe it means you're wrong?

    I"m not attacking you, I'm explaining why the term 'mumble rap' is stupid because it groups together dissimilar artists over a disparaging term.

    Drake was never grouped as "conscious rap" lol. And "conscious rap" is an equally stupid "genre" and term used by people who don't know what they're talking about.

    after take care people were trying to group him as a conscious rapper, he's sorta been taken out of that with his more mainstream projects

    By the way, even though i don't use the term conscious rap and don't want to use it i'd most likely bind music that handles political and social issues and affairs not f---ing drake lol
    Let's just stop using these terms, it creates needless and baseless prejudice

    It's a rap discussion forum, if you don't want to back up your claims or discuss anything then why are you here? Can you show me an article or person who isn't you who called Take Care "conscious rap"?

    Also this is nothing to do with a "technicality," we're arguing that mumble rap is a disparaging, stupid, and inaccurate term.

    But that's my whole point, you shouldn't use a term for an artist you like that is mostly used to disparage them. It perpetuates a stereotype that pools them into something they're not.
