Hmmmm idk the details but my parents are also very thankful for the clintons because they said that that's the only reason my brother an I are here. My parents left us when we were young, and brought us to America after all their papers and everything were set. We're citizens now but I know the lengths my parents went to to provide us a better life. It didn't have anything to do with not paying taxes or cheating the system. It's just how s--- played out you feel

And that really sucks, but it's not like their viewpoints would change or be different if Hillary were elected.

It's dumb af that it's expensive to do that. Like if good people want to come here and work I don't see why we should charge them to do so. They'd be paying taxes like everyone else.

You might not think he means "white people" but the insinuation throughout his whole campaign has proven otherwise. He executed that southern strategy (used by Nixon and Reagan) to perfection and either negatively generalized minorities or falsely depicted their realities (All African-Americans living in h---) appealing to the far right that is afraid of the shifting demographics of america as a dominantly white country. Its not always been overt throughout the campaign but its been present, and minorities are also at fault for falling victim to it and voting against their best interests in many cases.

Also, despite whatever the media may insinuate, crossing the border illegally is not easy. It cost quite a bit, it's dangerous and scary. Coyotaje's (smugglers) are not friendly people. If you don't pay them by the penny, they will k--- you and your whole family. If you're late on your payment, they'll also k--- you and your whole family. This idea that people are choosing to come here illegally just because they can is ridiculous. It's typically a desperate measure to get a better life.

yes but they wouldn't have been able to impose the fear they can now, or be in the position to legislate their vewpoints to the degree they can now.

That's the thing about Donald Trump as well. He's not a complete dumb a--- when it comes to everything. He always spoke in generalities so wherenever he would make questionable statements or claims he could fall back and be like "I didn't mean that!" His slogan "make America great again" is a perfect example of that (when was America great? The 50's during Jim Crow?). Or when he insinuated that second amendment people should deal with Hillary lol.

of course they wouldn't, but the impact the vindication has can't be overlooked either.

this is their country now, they feel empowered. they won. and minorities lost.

so just as trump supporters feel empowered, minorities who were against trump feel disempowered.

It's frustrating and I remember my uncle went through h---, I think almost a decade just for him to get his papers to get it. Having more people investing is never a bad thing, it's at the same time I do think some places still are against it just for the cheap labor (think farms, landscaping and other low wage paying jobs).

My pops still gets uncomfortable talking about it, he came over here in the 80s when he was just 18. It's not the U.S' fault that the Mexican government isn't of much help in that process either, people are still inexplicably poor despite the rich resources and the government has a system that only benefits the more wealthy. Law-breaking is law-breaking ultimately but common sense is something that can at least fix this issue since it's long overdue.

Oh I know that. A lot of undocumented immigrants are here through overstayed visas. I don't want to say most because I don't know the percentage exactly but it's a lot. I was just referring to how people seem to believe that people hop the border just because they can and it's that simple. It's really not.

There are a lot of people saying that ‘everything Obama accomplished will be undone’ or ‘none of the last 8 years mattered’.
Ignore those people, they have no idea what they’re talking about. All the progress our country has made isn't going to magically be reversed and erased.

Minorities who chose to vote for him aren't falling victim to anything, you're supposed to vote for the candidate who suits your best interests. I'm sure lots of those who voted for Trump aren't afraid of 'the country shifting demographics of america as a dominantly white country.' They're tired of Obamacare, they want to be able to choose the school for their children, etc. I think he's kind of an idiot and cringe when he says things sometimes, but I'm still willing to give him a chance.

Tuesday's exit poll results have not yet been finalized but so far they show Trump outmatching Romney by two points in each voting bloc.
I agree with you but the fact that it's done so frequently is kinda concerning, no?

Where a lot of social progress is concerned, it's genuinely in jeopardy now. You're delusional if you seriously think nothing's going to get undone.

yo but i seen a video of some black kids beating up an elderly trump supporter, that s--- is just as bad as your mom or sister being beat by trump supporters you know?

end of the day trump won, and if you want your country back, the constitution will allow you to have a fair attempt at that in 2020. until then you can only give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll do the right thing for the country as a whole, and if he doesn't, then protest those specific actions.

presidents have been impeached in the past, trump is not above it.

Two points above Romney is not even close to doing well lol. Add that Romney ran against the first black president and Trump ran against an old white woman who called prisoners "super predators" sooo...
