People still think it's ok to deny services based on gender, race, or orientation, just because people think that person will be magically ostracised?

why? is he not allowed to believe that gay people shouldn't be together? i mean i don't agree with that stance or viewpoint at all but i guess i'm the kind of person who would just rather walk to a different store instead of standing outside the one that doesn't agree with me for 24 hours shouting about how he's problematic

if it's in the context of a shop or market yeah. they should be allowed to tap into whatever demographic they want to. if they want to create a bigot bar then go for it. nothing stopping a gay from opening a bar and saying "no homophobes allowed" and capitalizing on the demographic of people who aren't like that. government shouldn't have a say in private business when it comes to things like that. let them run their private business now they see fit. the turmoil will still be there if a racist has to grit his teeth and serve someone they don't want to.

I mean, they could also deny service to somebody of the same race, gender, and orientation...why should the government get involved if a business owner doesn't want to accept money being handed to them? Their loss.

I mean, technically if every business did this against one type of person that'd be bad and ok I can't defend this anymore I'm sorry @Indichad

someone is going to fill that gap and make a boat load of money by opening a store to serve the people who have been ostracized

Believing whatever he believes about gay people is something that is dangerous but can't be controlled but we d--- sure will not set the precedent of not giving people a certain service because their gay, straight etc. if someone says I couldn't buy something because I'm black I'll probably not buying from him anyway but I'm doing my best to make sure his business is punished and notifying the right people to send a message.

That's what I was thinking, but I could see it being bad if, hypothetically, NOBODY wanted to sell water to Asian people.
These laws just avoid that edge-case.
