    It's his right to be a racist but that belief does not allow him to do that to others. Keep that s--- to yourself if that's who you wanna be. You can't discriminate when offering a public service and saying that he should be allowed to do that just makes it easier for people to discriminate without reprimand.

    okay then my bad, i shouldn't have said people like you.

    but basically what i meant was that, even if a shop discriminated against gays - gays/bis/trans make up, what? 3.8% of the population? that means that shop still has access to 96.2% of the market unless discrimination is widely accepted as problematic and people take their business elsewhere.

    which apparently, discrimination isn't an issue to some people here?

    word and beyond that, what happens when the lack of accountability translates to private institutions such as hospitals?

    are they allowed to pick and choose their patients based on skin color or sexual orientation?

    I think socially we're at a point where if the government took off the leash, we wouldn't go rabid against each other. Certainly here in Ontario.

    I think private businesses deserve the right to serve who they want, government institutions are there to serve the people, all of the people. It's two different things.
