Nov 8, 2016 yachty is part of the new movement going away from the trap mindstate. hes music is somewhere in the void between rap & singing, and focuses on positive and humble vibes rather than arrogant, nihilistic, narcissistic and aggressive rap. DRAM took a step further by actually putting effort into his music, and you see other artists like migos slowly approaching the same formula but ya this is new direction hip hop is going, yachty having huge influence in it now what type of innovation did biggie have? im curious.

I just think its lame a dude like 'yatchy' disrespects big even though it's clearly bait. I'm not a huge fan of the 'new direction', with the exeption of Future/Thug/Gates. And YG, but he isn't a trap rapper, I love the production he raps on. For some reason yatchy and designer feel like bad versions of thug and future. Perhaps you have examples of songs I might like?

Nov 8, 2016 future makes emo music, yachty is about being young, having fun and positive vibes. young thug definitely influenced this new wave the most though, and jeffery is in the exact same direction as the new movement. kevin gates is on the old wave w the rest of the aggressive/emo trappers. find me any future song that sounds like these: desiigner on the other hand is just a future clone, hes got nothing to do with this at all and will probably die out if mike dean stops carrying him

Nov 8, 2016 his voice is part of his character, hes not a tough rapper with lots of masculinity, hes a goofy introvert w anxiety who displays tons of charisma and character that way instead i get how its hard to enjoy for someone used to the qualities in a conventional rapper/trapper
