Nov 20, 2016Seems like Kovalev took the popular vote, but Ward took the electoral college.

Kellerman and Sky both seem oblivious to the fact that Kovalev faded because Ward was painting his body the whole night as well as getting inside where Kov had to wrestle,M Solo, Poohdini and Mike Tyson like this. -

Ward really proving himself. I almost wish he was fighting safer, but I hope even haters see this as his coming out party.them2eazyboyz, M Solo and Poohdini like this. -

Unfortunately, I think a "good fight" for the public would entail Kov being down on the cards and catching Ward late. If Ward wins, people will refer to it as another May-Pac because his style just isn't aesthetically pleasing for most people. He's a mauler. I personally like that Ward is a nice level headed guy, but that's another reason why I bet this does less than 200k buys which is what the average UFC PPV is drawing. Gotta be on that pro wrestler Ali formula like Floyd and Conor if you want the money. There, that should keep your expectations in check!Mike Tyson, M Solo and Poohdini like this. -

I think it's fair to call it a pick em fight, but I'll be less surprised if Ward shuts him down for 12 rounds on his way to an ugly decision than if Krusher blows him out early. Ward hasn't looked as good since his return, his performance against Froch really, but I think it might be a case of him only really shining against good competition. Kov had the better warm up fights with Hopkins and Chilemba, but both survived for 12 and that's not a good sign when fighting Ward. He's also been sparring with Usyk the tricky cruiserweight. Meanwhile Ward fought some jobbers to shake off the rust and acclimate to the weight class. They're both great boxers, but Ward has so many more tools that I can't bet against him. I'll be rooting for him as well.
Let's just hope it's a good fight and that people actually buy it. This plus Lomachenko-Walters so soon after is a good look for boxing.Mike Tyson, M Solo and Poohdini like this. -

Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward, two of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, are set to meet November 19 on HBO pay-per-view for the Russian's unified light heavyweight championship, per HBO Boxing.
The two fighters reached an agreement earlier this year that was contingent on each man first winning an interim bout before their superfight could be finalized. That seemed like a formality, but boxing fans can now breathe easy knowing the big fight is officially a go.
Those two bouts cleared the path for the official announcement of what is easily the most significant fight of 2016. It's a rarity in boxing these days, with fighters seeking out big paydays over big challenges, for a true 50/50 fight to come along at this level, but that's what fans will see in November.
