Nov 19, 2016 lordklansman or whatever is gonna be watching muslims get numbers tattooed on their forearms talking about "stop seeing race in everything"
Nov 19, 2016 Yo idk if what I said is what you meant, but yea I do agree that a vote for Trump was unavoidably racist. I didn't really see, or understand what people like you were trying to say before. But to me that doesn't make a person a racist. You gave me some ammo for Thanksgiving discussions though lol. Like I said, I didn't vote for that man because I, myself, couldn't overlook his hate. @WPG
Nov 19, 2016 All of that may be true, but he straight up said "if I would have voted, I would have voted on Trump." And bridge the divide between right and left, that's all good, but you're still supporting Trump. A bigot, a fascist, an accused r--ist, but most relevantly, a racist. And I just don't get it, Yeezus-era was him crying racism because corporations labeled him as urban, and because of the color of his skin, he couldn't progress in the fashion industry. So is racism okay by him in any context not concerning him? I hope Kanye reaches the stars with his clothing endeavours, but mass incarceration, police violence, Muslim registries, "the wall", etc. bothers me more than his difficulties breaking in to fashion. Even if he doesn't out right support that s---, by supporting Trump he condones it. That's no better. Kanye is my favourite of all time, but this is pathetic by him.
Nov 19, 2016 Kanye doesn't have a coherent worldview. He never has. I mean think about it - this week we were lectured that black people need to stop focusing on race....by the man who brought you New Slaves.
Nov 19, 2016 and ranted this: "I’m just saying, don’t discriminate against me, because I’m a black man or because I’m a celebrity, and tell me that I can create, but not feel. Cuz you know d--- well there aren’t no black guys or celebrities making no Louis Vuitton nothing. They let Pharrell make those glasses, and we liked them, right? They let me make those shoes, and we liked them right? And they say, “No, no, no, n-----. Not no more. That’s too much. That’s too much. No, no, no, no, no, no, n----- not no more. That’s way too much. That’s way too much. Stay in your place."
Nov 19, 2016 Piggybacking off of what @Swizz said -- basically, I don't genuinely believe he's a Trump supporter for that reason (lack of a coherent worldview) -- he didn't vote for him, he donated 15k to the DNC in 2014, and donated to both Obama and Hillary's campaigns...that doesn't line up with being a Trump supporter in my eyes. These rants are incoherent/dumb/in bad taste when you say things like 'I hope they build the wall and keep you all out' or whatever. Kanye's main point is usually lost in his own garble + whatever the media picks up as the most controversial aspect. I can't defend a lot of the s--- he said but he's clearly lost/pissed off and is just trying to start s--- because he doesn't like being put in a box ("This is about the idea of a black guy liking Trump. They thought they had me because ... just because I was black or just because I was a celebrity,").
Nov 19, 2016 Also this. He's referenced lexipro in songs multiple times since then and I wouldn't be surprised if something beyond depression is also affecting him.
Nov 19, 2016 That's fair, but at the same time, I'm glad he's not getting a pass for it. He may not have voted, but his endorsement is worth more. So by calling him out for it, it takes power away from his endorsement, which I feel is important.
Nov 19, 2016 Yeah, sorry, I typed that sentence poorly and corrected it after you replied. I meant to say I wouldn't be surprised if he had something in addition to depression cuz he's clearly not in a good mental state.
Nov 19, 2016 often nowadays Kanye's supposed/attempted "profound statements" are like botched attempts at sentiments from John Lennon's "Imagine", without the 'what if's Lennon: Imagine there's no countries....nothing to k--- or die for Kanye: The government did AIDS tbh Lennon: Imagine there's no religion. Just think about it for a second Kanye: Racism isn't actually real lol Lennon: Imagine all the people living life in peace Kanye: Bill Cosby innocent
