Why isnt UK Rap big in America?

    imagine what the f--- was going through the Brits heads when they tried to colonize Australia

    honestly i just don't think the uk accent is appealing to the ears--like at all. it's probably just cuz i'm not familiar with it but at the same time i'll hear somebody like assassin (the dude on "i'm in it" and "blacker the berry") who has a pretty jarring Jamaican accent and it clicks right away. like it's definitely foreign but it sounds dope in music--and unfortunately the uk rappers don't have that same effect on me.

    I love Aussie rap but that's because I'm listening to my own accent and it's rapping about things that are relevant to my culture/country and using language I use so I relate to it more. Americans wouldn't get it.

    The basis of it is with this the argument, can you imagine us in here in Australia having an American reading our nightly news? No. Can you imagine an Australian doing the same in America? No. It's the same logic. Different cultures.

    They've got their own we've got our own. And like @Coco said it works with America being so neutral because 80% of ours and probably all westernized television and movies etc. is American and that's because they're THE place for it.

    these tracks arent special and compare them to tracks that are big rn in hiphop these sound nothing close to them.

    and yes the accent is horrible. but also the talent of song making is no where as good as USA rappers
