Probably not. He still has family who are in powerful positions in the Cuban government I think. Wouldn't surprise me if another Castro took over.

f--- Castro, easily one of the most ruthless tyrants of the 20th century. He was a nightmare for so many people close to my family and their own extended relatives as well. I hope anyone praising/sending condolences to Castro's family have nothing to say on Donald Trump and Mike Pence, because Castro was worse than anything Trump or Pence could possibly conceive. If there's a h--- I hope he's in it.

Donald Trump 45th President of the United States

Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights.

While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve.

Though the tragedies, deaths and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty. I join the many Cuban Americans who supported me so greatly in the presidential campaign, including the Brigade 2506 Veterans Association that endorsed me, with the hope of one day soon seeing a free Cuba.

May he rest in peace. Controversial figure, but his social politics changed the lives of cubans for the better.

Are you seriously implying that any of us presidents from the last 40 years (including Trump) elected in a democratic way can be compared to the dictator? The very fact that the US is a global empire and Cuba's not should tell you something. What has he done so special that couldn't be achieved without breaching human rights?

Nahh, it wasn't like that. He was the most peaceful leader but he was forced to oppress his citizens because of America bloodthirsty capitalism. Stop with this bs, please. It's like denying the holocaust.

Wow. Just no. I was there three whole weeks just one year ago and met all kind of people, went to political acts...of course some things were wrong but so many others were right. Having the bigget country in the world sabotage you for decades just because your system is different, now thats comparable and undeniable like the Holocaust. How a country that is known to f--- up and help facist dictatorships in the whole latin america can give lessons on democracy? Lets be real now come on
