This album is strangely addicting. I keep coming back to it after several hours.

Ur saying an uplifting album but a lot of FHD is quite "happy" especially after St. Tropez and of course Note to Self. I don't think Cole himself is depressed, the whole point of FHD was him finding himself or whatever. Change is a great example of his new clarity as well if u look at it bar for bar.

I agree that Cole has it in him to do a really uplifting album with an "I Get Up" vibe cos that's still Top 1 Cole and would probably bring the out the best in him. Making the struggle seem beautiful is his lane

ye i agree, not many people are acknowledging that ... but to me its not necessarily the street guy actually getting gunned down but its just the description of his premonitions of his own death ...

this why i find it so dope listening to the title track and then going back to that, especially the first listen it was like s---, the intro wasn't more of cole being depressed but rather from the other guys perspective :khaled:

    Congrats on ur daughter!!

i finally realized the TRUE main purpose of Folding Clothes tho y'all ...

think about it, right after folding clothes comes she's mine part 2 and his daughter being born

cole trying to tell us that after you start folding clothes with/for a girl comes a baby lol

d---, just realized 2nd verse in 03' adolescence when he say's "You bought to go get a degree, I'm gone be stuck with two choices: graduate to weight or sell a number 2". Really that whole verse when Cole rapping from the perspective of his high-school d--- dealing friend could actually tie into this album. Even the 2nd verse of ATOTC "We gone circle around the Ville and hit a lit" and "One day we gone graduate and cope a brick."

Even the hook on tale of two citiez "Last night I had a bad dream, that I was trapped in the city" and Ville Mentality song about being about how to escape that small town mind mentality.

I know it's a reach, but what if Cole was continuing those narrative songs on this album with the d--- dealing friend that got s---t and left his daughter behind.

Bussa back. Was using a s-----y replacement phone until I got a new one and haven't really had time to log in.

S/O to @Bliss. I was just f---ing around. It literally took me like 19 seconds to find that old post of yours. I didn't bookmark it and keep it for months. Don't flatter yourself! =) xo

Album solid as s---. 8.5 as of right now. I love the concept. Dope that it's a double meaning and parallels his life and his friends life.

I wish he renamed Foldin Clothes...it's a sweet and endearing song concept and it's a different style than he has done before and it works...but it'd be better if he renamed it to Whipped..jk...a for real better song title would be The Simple Things...or something like that..

Ville Mentality should be an Interlude

Intro threw me off at first but I love it...different than anything he's done. His voice on it along with the production is menacing and powerful.

Immortal is f---ing nasty. He goes hard lyrically and the hook lures you in.

Deja Vu catchy as f---. I love the hook...it's kind of like a satire hook/tribute to club songs 10-15 years ago

Change vintage Cole...inspiring bars and hook...woke outro

    She's Mine 1 & 2 heartfelt as f---.

    Neighbors straight f---ing b-----r.

I think Cole has more up his sleeve in terms of another album...I could see him dropping again in the Spring....he can't tour with just this new album...he should do like @JimmyBucketsNC said and release an album full of hits and bangers.

i guess i should be happy i like those

    Ville Mentality is my s---

This reads like a 3.5/5, not a 3/5. Reviewer had more positive to say than negative.

She's mine part 2 is straight up the most emotional s--- Coles ever written. That coupled with the last verse on 4yeo is some heavy s---.

I get the love for I Get Up, 2Face, etc, but idk how anybody can say 4YEO isn't the best song he's ever made/written.
