I don't f---s with any religion but I grew up going to Catholic Church on Sunday's and I absolutely hated that bs.

I am a little conflicted about the labels of religion. One reason is because I feel like it, specifically different sects of generally the same religion (Christian, Catholic, etc.) causes alot of separation and conflict. I also don't really know if it is right by who I worship to categorize or label people. The reason for that is because I don't definitively know what the Bible says about labels, as I am still working towards reading all of the Bible and understanding it.

I guess what you would generally describe as a christian is what I am. I was brought up in a black, christian household and I have had some doubts and struggles with my faith. But I can say today that I don't believe blindly. I believe because of my own perspective, personal testimonies, reflecting, and witnessing. I am taught to make Christ known but not to force it on anyone so that is what I'm doing.

I welcome anyone who has any questions for me to ask and I will answer them as well as I can. I am not all-knowing, (no person is) but I know it's possible that we can help each other by sharing our perspectives.

I'm a Christian.

I mostly keep my thoughts to myself.. I'm not very loud or obnoxious with it like I've seen some congregations

I have a set of standards I give myself to reach, and I aim the highest I could go

Life is satisfying, so I have no complaints with it

I used to be a Christian, but I've come to realize.. you don't need to follow a "man made" Religion. If you believe in Jesus & God, and believe in their word you don't need to follow a "religion".. you follow them.

I read the bible and Pray to God, not a religion. It doesn't take much to be a good person though.

I believe in the possibility of an afterlife, and to a certain extent I think I only believe that because I would find it sort of unsettling to believe otherwise. I mean it's instinct to want to live, even if that may be after dying as a human (if that makes any sense). But after having been raised in a Christian household I don't believe in god, so I guess whatever religion that is.

A good question for the members in this thread would be whether or not they believe a soul exists.

Does Religion even have a grip on society anymore? By the time I was a teen and Bush lasted more than one term, Religion seemed to become more and more of a casual exercise instead of a "required" one forced onto you by your family

Christian, catholic sect if ya wanna get technical. But like I'm a chill Christian that don't really care about the rules of the bible too much, i.e. gay marriage (I'm not gay but love is love, you can't help that), can't divorce, staying pure. I use it as a way of life and how you should live cause the way I see it, as long as you're nice and treat everyone with respect and all around a good person, you shouldn't be worried about going to h--- or what have you. I believe that my God is a loving God and would want his children to love others no matter what.

Hate isn't a good emotion to have. Every person is vulnerable to hypocrisy but that shouldn't define who a person is. God is against people judging others because they have no right to. They have no right to because no person is perfect. God is perfect and created us in his image so that is why only He can judge. It isn't good to hate people for being hypocrites, let alone hate at all. Would you like it if someone judged you as harshly and merciless as you are judging the people you hate? If your answer is no, then I would recommend you to find it in your heart to change for the better and listen to your conscience. I'm not forcing you to do anything but I am letting you know that being a positive person in Christ is an option. You personally have to make a choice. I can advocate for good all I want but it will not save you if you don't choose to believe.

It's the idea of the church I hate, it ruins the image of the religion because nobody including myself can sit in there and practice what we preach to perfection & unfortunately some go a way worse route
