To me personally, yes. Realistically, it's arguable. It comes down to personal preference. Any unbiased person who is a true fan of rap can't deny he's up in the debate whether you like him or not. If you disagree then you're just a stubborn fa----. You can't deny his talent, impact, success, and skill.

don't get me wrong, I do think Eminem is one of the GOATS. I just feel Biggie's catalogue, while cut extremely short, was phenomenal. and rarely does an album come close to Ready to Die or Life After Death. His flow was just impeccable...s--- sounded so effortless. I just don't think we'll get another rapper like Biggie again.

that's just my personal opinion though.

Biggie will always but up in the top tier, but it's unfair to have him as the undisputed #1 , simply because 2 albums isn't enough to rate as GOAT. If eminem died after the eminem show, similar words would be spoken of Em.

They are both top 3 for sure.

Imo Eminem is the goat. Is his resume perfect? no. But he is the most complete rapper ever. His rapping ability is on par with the greats. His music appeals to the masses. He has the most success. An his sound has changed the most an refuses to stay in a box. The only knock on Eminem I think is his beat selection not being the best.

    My All time rappers
    1. Eminem
    2. Pharoahe monch
    3. Nas
    4. Jay z
    5. Kendrick lamar( I don't even like him but at this point he's already surpassed so many others)
    6. Biggie
    7. Redman
    8. Lupe fiasco
    9. Ab soul( most versatile rapper probably since em)
    10. Andre 3000
Yes it's time to remove pac, his rapping level isnt great an doesn't hold up. His music does an that's why he will go down as a top 5 hip hop artist but not rapper

    @Michael Myers @Kon @SHUDEYE @Coco

the only reason i tease @WPG about those things i mentioned on rap basement and studio leaks is because i know it's his weakness/gets-under-his-skin/ it'll get a rise out of him. until recently, he didn't realize that's what i was doing every single time i kept teasing him about not having biggie in his greatest rappers list. all it takes is a little observation to see how seriously he takes hip hop. the moment it all came to fruition for me was when he posted his itunes play-count on studio leaks and he had listened to MMLP2 20+ times, and (as he's stated countless times) he doesn't even like eminem lol

to me, what makes message boards fun is getting different view-points/perspectives from different people. WPG provides great insight on hip hop (and other topics too) and because of that, he's always been one of my fav posters.

music is all about personal taste. now of course you can have thoughts on whether you think the rappers are good or not, but you can't prove that any music is good---so at the end of the day it just comes down to one persons opinion versus another persons opinion.

if you ask me my thoughts about which rappers are better, i'll give you my honest opinion. but its not something i'm going to argue about at great lengths because i know there will always be someone else who won't see it the way i do. so if WPG now thinks biggie is the greatest rapper the genre has ever seen, i'm ok with that. and if his thoughts change 4 years later, i'm fine with that too lol

To be fair @TimmyT since 2011 we had...

    HTS
    Mmlp2
    Shady xv
    Southpaw

I think wpg is way to harsh on Eminem but with projects like that its not weird that he drops on someone's list.

those other four are all all-time masterpieces too (i'd probably have all but LS in my top ten). but LAD is the only truly great record that's about being a rap star--or was until Dark Fantasy, but kanye didn't come close to big. big mastered every aspect of rap before he turned 25. he's the best the genre's ever seen.
