I think anybody who's working 40 hours a week should make enough so they can get by. Nobody should be working full-time and struggling to eat.

I keep forgetting you are a kid who has no real experience in the real world. Businesses are in the business of making money. It's not there job to overpay people without a skill or trade.

And here we are coming full circle. What I'm asking for isn't a new or foreign concept. Re-read my previous post:

3 years ago Seattle approved a $15 an hour minimum wage... Now McDonald hamburger flippers make $15 an hour...

The unemployment rate there is 2.7% and the per capita GDP is headed towards $80k per year.

I had no debt, and only had rent and paying for my own food to worry about bill wise when I last lived on my own, and I even rode my bike everywhere I needed to get, even if it was rain, snow, f---ing 90 degree whether... you name it.

I worked full time for minimum wage (the only wage around to really get in my area, and even if I could get a raise it was like 5 cents, and a promotion meant 50 cents more at most) and could literally only afford a 1 room apartment (and I'm not talking 1 bedroom apartment, I mean literally 1 f---ing room in the entire thing, not including the closet sized bathroom) with no kitchen or sink other than the bathroom one. The roof leaked when it rained, the place had bed bugs from day 1, and no one kept up on it so I could never get rid of them. I couldn't afford to use the washer or dryer in my building 90% of the time so I wore a lot of the same clothes all the time, regardless of how worn they were because I had no other option. My last neighbor yelled to herself through the walls at all hours of the day and night. My other neighbors throughout the building more than likely did and sold drugs. Someone was shot in front of the store directly in front of the apartment and the whole area was just not somewhere you wanted to walk around alone. I was approached by some creepy dude who followed me up to my floor when I came home from work at 4am one night, he wanted sex. My bike was almost stolen from the stairway it was heavily chained up to, so I had to keep it in my apartment after only a couple months of living there (which then took up a 4th of the total empty floor space in my apartment, couldn't get in or out of my apartment without moving it). I had to eat literally nothing but microwaveable s--- the entire time I lived there essentially because again, no kitchen. I didn't qualify for any sort of government assistance either.

Oh, and the best part? This was the only place I could ever hope to afford on my own there in that town. I didn't so much as qualify for the next price range in apartments, and even if I did I couldn't get one unless I had a cosigner because I've never had any sort of credit before.

People act like the minimum wage being the living wage is something only lazy people with no work ethic or drive would ever need and even then they're apparently undeserving because of that, and the same people pretend a living wage is going to boost people up to baller status or something, where they're just rolling in money all the time for little effort... when in actuality it's something that the average person struggling to live alone on it needs just to stay out of poverty a--- situations like the one I was in... it's infuriating how out of touch this view is

This isn't 1965 anymore. People living on Min wage living like that will never happen again. For the 1,000th time, people need to learn a skill or trade.

So basically: f--- everyone from my generation or younger. We all need to work twice as hard as those before us for far less just to be able to survive

In 1965 you were vastly more likely to have a skill and a trade...

There wasn't such a thing as full time workers still being eligible for goverment benefits... Like this generation's working poor with corporations like Wal-Mart who's employees use still get a goverment check and essentially have a tax subsidized bankroll.

Half the nation's workers were in a union and the top tax bracket paid 70% in taxes.

Millennials are so f---ing lazy. Go to a community college or trade skill and learn a skill set that is in demand. Why should someone make $13-$15/hr for unskilled work?

They should raise the minimum wage to like $8-$9 or something, but $15 an hour is laughable.

I've made over $55 an hour as a general labor... It didn't collapes the economy.

Some people get paid $30,000 to go hang out at a night club for 5 hours.

There are CEO's who get paid $100s millions to destroy companies and run them into bankruptcy and oblivion.

Why do you think American workers should be in dire straits and not prosperous? Your outlook is very strange to me.
