I've also seen a psychologist say that the use of drones will only create more hysteria and hatred in those countries. she likened it to deterrence/revenge and said something along the lines of;
"If someone walks up and assaults you, you have options on how to react, you can hit back, you can tell police, you can tell everyone they're bad company to be around etc etc. when your familes house is destroyed by an air strike or drone attack, there's no option for retaliation. they can't just call their governments and say "hey a war crime was committed" they can't fly to america and enact revenge, but they still feel these emotions and do want justice for what happened. So when a group like ISIS comes knocking on their pile of rubble and say "hey, we know who did this to you, we can even help you f--- them up, join us" what do you think they'll say?"SliK, VR46 and K18 El Duderino like this. -
