how many close friends do you have?

    not a coin hate thread just got me thinking

    probably have 18-20

    tight group of 11 from high school
    3 other close friends from high school
    and about 5 or so new friends from college

    I have hundreds of close friends... And if any of them over heard me arguing with my mom on the phone, they would go straight to her house and beat her a---.

    Not even sure what my definition of a friend is tbh

    Like if we're talking casually seeing them now and then out and about, in the club/pub, in town etc then I easily have well over 50

    But close friends who I confide in and trust: probably my housemates & then my close friendship group at home, so about 15 maybe

    d--- seeing the other posts makes me feel like reevaluating myself. People are just corny and aren't on the same s--- you are on, then again people have looked at me like that. Like my old post I have 3-5 I think are close to me, but in reality I got like 10 that I probably couldn't be with in 1 room for a day

    i've never socialized much, and when i've made 'friends', it's never been on a deep level. always very superficial (to me anyways, but everyone apparently "misses" me and s---). and work friends especially... there's just nothing in common and most always just wanna 'hangout', which is boring as s--- to me. i don't have anything to talk to you about m8, we don't share any interests we could discuss, and i don't want to chit chat or get high or get into your drama or whatever. and if i wanted to just sit and watch tv or netflix or listen to music i can do that at home and without the long awkward silences where they're trying to make conversation with me

    i keep people at an arms reach anymore, never that close. and i've noticed i slowly phase out talking to them as time goes by and as i meet more people, i can't juggle that many social contacts at once, especially when i don't truly value the interactions after awhile.

    i also don't message people on my own, people have to get a hold of me, and i've noticed that i also give very short to the point, uninteresting answers that shut down the line of conversation almost immediately when they do message me, as I'm generally working on something on my computer and i don't want to stop it just to have pointless chit chat. i'm not interested in their day to day or how they've been or what new pet they have or if they're dating someone etc.. i don't care. s---'s not relevant to me and my life.

    and honestly, i realize more and more that not only do i not connect with most people on any level, they usually annoy the f--- out of me and the more i hang out with something the more i realize things that i heavily dislike about them and i'm just waiting for our 'hangout's to end and i want to go home and do my own thing again

    it's ironic really

    i crave social interaction and hate to be alone mostly any time, but yet once i get it it's like i don't want it anymore. my 'friends' get something out of our time together and i don't. it's f-----, and i end up isolating myself from everyone who wants to be a part of my life

    About a handful or two of people I'd consider to be 'close friends'.

    They're the people I've grown up with and have been through the same predicaments I've been through.

    Forreal though I'd rather have one or two very close friends than loads of fake friends that you aren't very close with and only have to seem popular, just reminds me of secondary (high) school social life

    You value experiences more with people who you can relate to on another level i.e very close friends. Like, most of my friends I wouldn't want to go on holiday/share a house with -- id just get too f---ing annoyed most of the time & wouldn't tolerate some of their s---

    I went to a private school so ever since 8th grade, I grew up with the same 5 friends.

    We hated each other when we first met, but seeing the same people for 5 straight years, every single school day (5 times a week, 10 months a year), you grow to be like brothers.

    Start liking girls at the same time. Grow facial hair at the same time. Get your first girlfriends at the same time. Go through break ups at the same time. We've been through everything together ya digg?

    And then me and my older brother are really close. My neighbour is like a little brother to me too, since I've known him since he was like 8.

    I'd say I'd trust about 7 people with my life.
