Apr 5, 2017 Word. 75% of my posts are in here. I like the sports crew we got here, but it'd be dope to have a lot more activity.
Apr 5, 2017 I see what you're saying now. He's better in the clutch, yes, but that's not gonna set him apart from Harden. Team record will probably determine it in the end.
Apr 5, 2017 I understand that, but Harden is not putting up similar numbers. He isn't breaking records left and right. Both teams only have 1 all star, but Russ is carrying his team to the playoffs, while the Rockets could potentially be in the playoffs without harden.
Apr 5, 2017 Harden IS putting up very similar numbers, is a better shooter and distrubutor during his FIRST YEAR as a PG... and he is breaking tons of records. As is their team.
Apr 5, 2017 bro nobody cares about records for mvp Hardens averaging 29 pts 8 rebounds and 11 assists, how is that not similar to russells?? stop arguing when you dont know what your talking about
Apr 5, 2017 Harden really shouldn't win MVP over Russ. He's the worst guard defensively in the league
Apr 5, 2017 MVP award is an individual award, not a team award Might be similar but still not as good. WB is averaging 31.9 pts, 10.7 rb, and 10.4 assists. I do know what Im talking about, do you? MVP is an individual game based off the regular season. How OKC does in the postseason doesn't matter
Apr 5, 2017 he doesnt, hes one of the worst defenders in the league. the only people that have contested less 3's than westbrook this year are rudy gobert and hassan whiteside, who are both centers that dont leave the paint. Hardens defense has improved marginally this year, and yes he was a terrible defender in the past but thats over now.
Apr 5, 2017 because regular season team success has always been weighed very heavily in the past for MVP and theres no reason it would stop now. I feel like im repeating myself alot here.
Apr 5, 2017 What is both of their overall defensive rating? I think you'll find that Russ is much higher than Harden So the MVP award is illegitimate?
Apr 5, 2017 Kobe didn't even win player of the month the month he dropped 8 or 9 or whatever it was straight 40+ point games, he also didn't win MVP in 05 when he was killing it and his team was 7th place. Russ probably isn't gonna win either, some said the Rockets wouldn't even make the playoffs this year and they're a top 3 seed...Harden deserves it, wouldn't be mad at Russ getting it either but it just probably isn't gonna happen, individual accomplishments don't mean much if the team's not getting it done. Also stop with this 'Harden doesn't deserve it cuz he sucks on D' stuff, Westbrook is almost definitely a worse defender this year than Harden.
Apr 5, 2017 He's the main reason their team is breaking tons of records. Credit goes to D'Antoni as well, but the entire team revolves around Harden and none of them outside of Lou Williams is a legit playmaking threat. And he's had Lou for a little over a month.
Apr 5, 2017 lou more of a pure scorer than a playmaker too, type of guy that comes off the bench and plays mostly iso ball
Apr 5, 2017 Not 100% sure this is true but this guy says the NBA now has an award show they're doing so we won't find out the MVP in the 2nd round like we used to, this would be after the NBA finals...kinda lame if true.
Apr 5, 2017 they do that for hockey, the show itself is pretty cool but its def lame that its after the finals
Apr 5, 2017 Definitely true. Drake is hostin the awards show too. I would like this if they took into account the post season for the award, but they're still just basing it off of the regular season.
