Neither player has led a team to the playoff as a #1 option. When Lebron doesn't play and those 2 do the Cavs are a sub .500 team

Yeah I mean I think they definitely make the playoffs, but they're not beating Boston, Washington, or Toronto in a series. We've seen how bad they are without LeBron.

Weak argument. Spurs beat Houston at home without Kawhi, are they better without him? Warriors went on a tear without KD, are they better without him?

Bron is so involved in scoring/playmaking that it's not something you can easily make up for in a one off game. I think with an entire offseason to plan with Kyrie & Love as the guys they would definitely be top 3 in the East.

Kyrie was 23 when Lebron got there, who's to say in the future with Wiggins or Love they wouldn't have been a contender in the East?
He woulda baptized him Mitch c'mon, Bron has showed us a handful of times that he can fold when the odds are against him, a few times against the Celtics, Dallas, and San Antonio. That NEVER happened with Michael. That means something to me when you talk about the greatest of all time, along with the numbers and rings of course.

he would've baptized JJ Barea, yes. but that's not the point. JJ Barea didn't lock him down. The Mavs' zone and the combination of Marion and Stevenson with Chandler at the rim was what did it. LeBron still played his worst series ever.

I'm not arguing hypotheticals, this is fact: Kevin Love has never led a team to a playoff berth. Kyrie has never led a team to a playoff birth. The Cavs have had a championship level roster for 3 years. With Bron, they've made 3 straight finals. Without Bron they're 4-19 in 3 seasons. With Bron and no Kyrie and/or Love they're +.500.

All I'm saying is Love and Kyrie has given us no indication that they'd be able to lead a team to a +.500 record let alone a playoff berth.

This post reminded me of that time where Mark Cuban called out Skip Bayless on twitter for claiming "Lebron choked against the mavs" which Cuban felt was discrediting the Mavs overall effort. Skip then invited Cuban onto First Take to debate this and Cuban just embarrassed him:

In essence though, Cuban's argument was the same as yours. A lot of things went into the mavs causing Lebron to struggle. It wasn't just one guy, it was a collective team effort. Doesn't erase the fact that Lebron had a bad series.

Exactly the segment I've had in my mind as well. Cuban s--- on Skip Bayless that morning. That was probably the best moment in my history of being a sports fan. Winning against OKC and then the morning after hearing Cuban destroy him like that. I used to despise Skip lol. I still remember that episode of First Take like it was yesterday.

Fact is they're both all stars, how many teams have 2 active all stars in their primes and aren't a playoff/.500 team?

When's the last time you've seen those Cavs/Wolves rosters that Kyrie & Love played on?

I still hate Skip Bayless lol I cannot stand him or Stephen A. Smith. It makes it worse because skip's a cowboys fan and so am I...ugh.... he's the reason why so many fan bases hate us tbh. Watching Cuban embarrass him on live tv was beautiful to watch.

They were all stars on losing teams and now they're all stars on winning teams. Idk how that's relevant.

Love pre Cavs years and Kyrie pre Bron years show a history of being unable to lead a team to the playoffs.

The Cavs record without Lebron in the 3 years they've made it to the NBA finals uphold the belief that they're not able to lead a team to the playoffs or a +.500 record.

Look at the context though? Who was the 2nd best player on Kyrie's Cavs? Young Dion? That roster was awful. What about Love, Beasley? B Roy on his last legs? Both of those teams were trash.
    Steve Nash overrated af

Personally I just think Kyrie is a star, not a superstar, and is better as a number 2 option. Kyrie is 23-25 with 5-6 assst regardless of teammates. You don't get any better or worst. He's an average distributor and mediocre defender. The fact that he's only a scorer makes me doubt his ability to lead a team to the playoffs.

Love is a low end #2 and great #3 in my book.

He's certainly not a worst passer. And I think the Cs make it to the playoffs w/o IT Brad Stevens is a great coach. If Kyrie played for him and had a team built around him like the Cs then he'd make the playoffs.
