No no no no, KD went to an already formed 73 win super team, after said team came back from down 3-1. The Celtics big 3 all came from bad teams to form a Big 3. It should be clear to an infant what Pierce was speaking on. Your comparisons are trash. Its what Ray Allen did except the Heat came back down 3-2, Ray was at the tail end of his career and not in fact a top 3 player in the league.

Crazy to think how different the narrative would be if Kyrie didn't hit that shot and then GS eventually won, I doubt people would be having legit Bron/MJ discussions like we are now.

I don't understand why Modest keeps trying to compare the Pierce/KG and KD situations... I remember someone saying that KD's move was unique because he left a contender and didn't create any new ones. I like you man, but I don't think that's the best comparison lol.

Definitely not. 2-5 vs. 3-4 in the Finals. It'd probably be a debate if he was top 5 or something.

If anyone likes him, Jimmy Kimmel is doing his show focusing on the Finals on ABC right now. Always liked it when him and Guillermo do the Finals stuff.

KD going to the team that beat him makes the circumstances different but the intent behind his decision and KG/Pierce is the same. All 3 wanted to compete for a title and joined all star teammates to do so. This idea that they were on a bad team so it justifies them creating a super team is bs. The end result was the celtics became prohibitively favorites to win the title and they'd probably would have gotten more than one had it not been for LA and The King.

Would of probably shut down the goat discussion for lebron and warriors would of be the best team in nba history..

I'm curious about the end result, since this is an even score and the trilogy should end this year.

The circumstances of KD being a top 3 player, joining a 73 win rival "super" team that KD had down 3-1, is the story. Nobody is arguing against the formation of these teams, its the circumstances.

If you can't recognize the difference in the formation of the Celtics and KD who is a top 3 player in the league joining a 73 win super team who he had on the ropes down 3-1 the year before, then I have to put you on ignore because i can't deal with ppl this stupid. I won't do it. Again nobody is arguing that the intentions of both the Celtics Big 3 and KD going to the Warriors weren't to win a championship (who is arguing this?).

A comparison i haven't seen made would be like if the cap went up massively for the 2010-11' season and Lebron went and joined the Celtics (who the Cavs led 2-1 before losing in 6, not quite 3-1). But thats the caliber of player joining an already made super team, obviously Durant is no Lebron but you can argue he is #2.

Again nobody is arguing against the forming of super teams to win Titles, they're arguing the wackness of this particular instance. You are severely downplaying the difference with "only difference is KD going to the team that beat him", ignoring the caliber of player KD is and the record breaking team that the Warriors were that year.

You are an annoying person. But lets get these finals going, they should be great.

The 'countdown to tip off' clock was at like 6 mins then I go to the bathroom and come back and it's at 15 minutes lol, guess they meant the top of the hour when the program or whatever officially starts..but for a second there I was thinking the tip was actually gonna be right away since it specifically said tip off, should have known better lol...

Pretty sure they do the full intros for finals games too if I remember right, at least the first finals game.

Also I probably should have mentioned it earlier and not right before tip, but heard an interesting convo on the radio earlier..There's 7 all stars in this series, how would you rank em? 1 is obvious, 2-3 are fairy set imo, but what about the rest? I'd go:

    1. Bron
    2. Durant
    3. Curry
    4. Kyrie
    5. Draymond
    6. Klay
    7. K-Love

Draymond vs. Klay is real tough but I feel Draymond helps so much defensively and adds to team chemistry a bit as well, as long as he's not getting suspended, etc..Kyrie at 4 wasn't an easy call either, but felt it made the most sense as he's consistently a good closer too and that's huge in the playoffs.

Klay+Dray could easily be flipped though depending on how I'm thinking at the time..There was a time I'd maybe have put Klay above Kyrie too cuz he's better defensively, but not now.
