Thunder only chance at making it past the first round in the future is if we go out and get a playmaker of Paul George level.

For sure. But, it's the shooters & play creators that matters. Westbrook is the only player that can consistently create for himself and others, plus the rest doesn't s---t well. Harden can do both but he has multiple ball handlers, shot creators, and shooters everywhere. The Thunder should be trying to beat them through defense and more low post play, but they're definitely the weaker team.

I don't get Timmy's post cuz he said star players matter more in the NBA than other sports and he was referring to Westbrook and said this game is a good example.

But OKC lost and is down 2-0, so how's this game a good example for that?

I agree that star players matter more in the NBA though overall.

Kanter needs to play more than 8 minutes. He's a liability on D but can potentially give you 20 which is more than the rest of the roster can.

Kanter and Adams together should be better than what we've seen. The problem is, while Roberson is fine for defense, he can't do anything on offense, plus Oladipo & Westbrook aren't good enough shooters. Their only chance is to try and slow down the game and play gritty defense. They just don't have enough offense to sustain them.

Unfortunately there aren't really any good SF FA's coming in the offseason. Maybe they can try to add Patrick Patterson (though he's a PF) to space the floor a bit, and try to lure J.J. Reddick. These two would be a big boost, changing the rotation and bench with shooting and they don't lose height or speed.

They have to be aggressive. I'm sure Russ loves it there and would love to get that super max extension, but he's a competitor at the end of the day and he's not gonna spend his prime running around with guys like this getting bounced in the 1st round.

I'd go all in on Paul George & Hayward, maybe even Melo.

THat's a possibility, PG13 would fit in perfectly but he did say he didn't want to leave Indiana. Hayward is interesting. There's also the chance of trying to add Blake and add some shooters around them.

PG seemed drawn to LA but playing with Russ probably his best shot to contend for a title. Russ/Blake pick and roll would be brutal. Hayward is kind of a long shot, if he leaves Utah it's prolly for Boston.

Speaking of Boston, you think they should've done the Butler trade? Personally I think George would be a better fit on that team but it looked like the Butler trade was almost done this year.

Idk, I definitely think PG would've been a better fit for them since he's a better outside shooter. I'm not sure what picks/players were really on the table, but if Boston would've been able to keep 1 of their next 2 Brooklyn picks I think they should've pulled the trigger.

Never seemed like the Bulls wanted to trade Jimmy in the 1st place tbh, I think they were just listening and waiting to see if Boston would sell the farm for him.
