    Fifteen years ago, Eminem released his acclaimed album The Eminem Show. To pay homage to his celebrated opus, Slim Shady will release the 15th-anniversary edition of The Eminem Show on Tuesday night (May 30).

    Earlier Tuesday afternoon, the 8 Milestar unveiled the inspiration behind his 2002 effort on Instagram. In a handwritten note -- which also featured the credits for The Eminem show -- he explained how The Truman Show was vital to the album's creation. “The concept for The Eminem Show was inspired by The Truman Show because my life felt like it was becoming a circus at that time and I felt like I was always being watched,” he wrote. “Basically Jim Carey wrote my album.”

    The album spawned a myriad of singles including "Sing for the Moment," "Superman," "Till I Collapse" featuring Nate Dogg, "Without Me" and "Cleaning Out My Closet." The album eventually went diamond, becoming Eminem's second album to achieve the feat following his 2000 project The Marshall Mathers LP.
