Oct 4, 2016 Simon has earned twelve Grammys for his solo and collaborative work, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2006 was selected as one of the "100 People Who Shaped the World" by Time magazine. In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine named Simon as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists. In 2015 he was named as one of The 100 Greatest Songwriters ( #8) by Rolling Stone Magazine. Paul Simon may be the poster boy for the greatest generation of acoustically anchored singer/songwriters, but in an appearance at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles Friday (Sept. 30), he made it clear that what most interests him nowadays is sonics before lyrics. “The thing about Kendrick Lamar andDrake is, they’re interested in the same thing that I am, which is sound,” he said. “How do you make a sound that’s arresting? It’s hard to find. The only difference between us is we’re fishing in different pools of sound.” Read more on http://www.billboard.com/articles/n...mmy-museum-album-interview?utm_source=twitter
Oct 4, 2016 The 2 goats... He's right. Kendrick's last album is already one of the highest rated albums due to its impressive musical experience, but imo Drake doesn't get the credits he deserves, at least from the critics (He's the best selling artist of our generation though, guess thats good enough). Views is a f---ing masterpiece. They're the #1 A & #1 B best rap artists so you should expect more praise from goat musicians
Oct 4, 2016 You can tell kendrick definitely took a step back as a rapper, but the music is now absolutely amazing. Haven't heard a better composed hip hop music since Kanye
Oct 4, 2016 He got a lot of help though...but he's like a conductor directing his orchestra. With that being said, he has definitely learned how to to use them musicians better, thats for sure. Would be interesting to see kendrick trying to make something different with his next album, maybe more commercial?
Oct 4, 2016 Terrance said his next album will sound nothing like his previous records. The only thing I'm worried about is who is he going to work with? For a hiphop/jazz album Kendrick got the absolute best team behind him. Now that hes willing to try something different, he needs to team up with different people
Oct 5, 2016 whew, this is THE Paul Simon. He could say some random s--- like Rihanna is the greatest oat or some stupid s--- like that if he wanted, because he has the credentials so say something like that if he wanted. Instead he decided to praise Kendrick and Drake, another legend praising the new kings
