Ordinary Joel Happiness begins when selfishness ends

I hope I'm not the only one who is an avid fan of reading Japanese manga. I mainly read Shounen-based ones but I'm loving the Seinen ones as well.

    Favourites would have to be:
    1. Ashita no Joe (Boxing manga from the late 60s/early 70s, one of the most influential mangas ever)
    2. Hajime no Ippo (Another boxing manga, 26 years and still going strong)
    3. Vagabond (One of the best mangas based on the Edo Period of Japan and focuses on Musashi Miyamoto, one of the most famous samurais in history)
    4. Naruto (Childhood nostalgia and all that)
    5. Real (Wheelchair basketball manga, created by the same mangaka who did Vagabond)

@Gerald, figured I'd make a thread here for us or any other manga readers to talk about this medium.

I usually read my manga via mangareader or mangafox websites.

Good thread man! I'd prefer to borrow mangas from the library or purchase my own copies but it's so hard to keep up with them that way. Usually end up using mangafox as well. I'm going to start dwelling into a more diverse range of mangas because in the past I only seemed to read them if they revolved around martial arts. Any suggestions i'll definitely check in with this thread and give props!

If you're attracted to artwork i'd really suggest Shamo, it's a very melancholy, gloomy, twisted read, awesome storyline as well & the artwork is so fire :emoji_fire::emoji_fire::emoji_fire:

I'm prefer more sports-related manga myself. At the moment I have like 30+ mangas bookmarked to read.

    Rock 'n Roll Ricky
was a short and sweet series that I thoroughly enjoyed revolving around a deadbeat rock-star wannabe who gets hit with tragedy but gets a reprieve in the world of boxing.

I highly recommend you read (or watch) Ashita no Joe, @Gerald. One of my all-time favourites. The artstyle may seem old and dated but it's really a compelling read and spans around 200+ chapters.
