They should make a second season where Naz sues the f--- out of the city, and gets paid a lot of money, which he uses to buy drugs, and he overdoses and dies. The end. That's realism lol.

Idk if they necessarily had anything directly to do with the killing, but I did find it odd when Brody was being interviewed about seeing Naz he said he was alone, when he wasn't.

Totally agree @Kvp187 I think Nasir was just submerged into a world he knew nothing about, but as the show begins with his relationship with the basketball team, and being invited to a party... Maybe he just felt eager to dive in all the way when he felt like he'd been accepted into Freddy's world. I dunno. I just think it's totally possible that he had always wanted to explore an urban environent, due to his upbringing, and I doubt that prison was the setting he was hoping to study, but he used what he had to work with...

I like that final scene with Stone, when the dude who sold him out for selling Aderall walks in and Naz just stares him down until the dude walks away, accepting his newly grown vagina, then Stone looks at him and says "See, you learned something."

Saw the advanced premiere a week ago. It was good enough to make me want to see the next episode. Nice to see some *Wire* alumni in this (Omar, Bodie). Dig the fact that it's based in NYC, particularly Queens. John Turturro gives it that NYC authenticity imo.

I thought the finale was pretty good. It did a nice job of balancing the satisfying, relatively audience-friendly conclusion with just enough ambiguity and melancholy to leave a lasting impression. Overall, I agree with what others have said regarding the show's flaws. Naz's transformation into hardened inmate is a bit too rapid to be wholly convincing, though its implication of the prison system in creating criminals is nonetheless well taken. Additionally, the character of Chandra was somewhat botched as she was sacrificed for the sake of plot contrivance (i.e. The kiss was just a way to get Turturro back to the forefront to deliver the closing argument).

Chandra's transgressions with the kiss and the drugs were out of character for a show that was, at its best, a detail-oriented, authentic-ish look into the justice system that covered a variety key players from the media to the family of the accused. It was a show that took the time to document the minutiae of its environments and had the patience to observe even the smallest of gestures or expressions of its characters. And Turturro killed it in one of the best roles of his very strong career.

I really hope it doesn't come back. Who killed her? Probably the financial adviser, maybe someone else. To me the story was never about resolving the case as much as it was about how s-----y the justice system is and how freedom comes at a price. Naz is free but on drugs and viewed as a criminal in his community. Kapoor's career is pretty much over (They could have done a better job selling the kiss and drug mule angle. I guess I'll chalk it up to her being a rookie, just broke up with her boyfriend, stressed out). Freddy is still in jail. Stone had his moment of triumph. Life goes on, wheels of justice keep turning however broken they are, etc. Shows like this, True Detective, Bloodline are one season type of shows.

all the female characters were incompetent, ~corrupt or wretched. all the black characters were ~scary except omar, who was kinda a thug bagger vance. whole plot twist is based on rly unfounded, truly remarkable legal and police missteps that don't feel earned. (thats to say, the show made a point early on to underscore how lazy and indifferent the system is.... and then suddenly chandra is stuffing drugs up her vagina and violating defense law 101: dont put the defendant on the stand. its just ridiculous, egregious storytelling.)

i liked the show as a whole that said. but just felt let down by how conventional and ~bleak oooo~ it was by the end

yeah I agree...well the drug smuggling was forced so obviously he had to do it. He didn't do it voluntarily.
The biggest twist to me was how Freddy, who seemed to be using him, actually helped him out. When he got that video I thought he was going to use it to f--- Naz but he was actually trying to get a mistrial to help him out. He could of clearly got the video of him smuggling drugs in the cell from the chick but chose not too....then at the end he didn't say good bye.

That, and his attorney kissing and smuggling drugs for Naz really seemed out of character. I was outraged at that plot line.

Hopefully we find out more about Naz's background in season 2, which will hopefully explain why he became an full fledged prison junkie overnight.

    prison mike I'M PRISON MIKE!

    Aug 29, 2016
First off, I hope you guys can forgive me for my nonsensical rant above ^

I've been waiting for this episode for a week, but it seems like that week lasted a month,ya know? I enjoyed the finale. I think a hung juryi is the perfect way to give Nas back his freedom... a legal technicality. I don't know if that's the correct terminology. But I'm glad that DA used that chance to do the right thing. It's really f----- up that she was willing to let Andrea's real murderer walk free because she already had an overwhelming amount of evidence against Nas. But that's the way the law is sometimes. It's more about avoiding the path of genuine justice, because it's not easy. It's pitiful that people's lives are in the hands of individuals like that Prosecutor, who knew she was preparing to send him to prison for a crime he didn't commit, just to save face, anything to not have to admit that she was wrong..

I'm glad that it gave the viewers a realistically flawed happy ending. Nas n't the same person as when he was arrested, in his own nature, and in the perception of his community, who will judge him for the rest of his days. On top of that, he's got a drug addiction. He's a criminal even though he's innocent of the crime that earned him that label. You can tell it really hurt him that his own mother believed he was guilty. Then you got the fate of his legal team. Chandra's career is most likely over. I know she just wanted to help her client, but she was in a position to know better, she's one of the few things that stood between his freedom and spending the rest of his life in prison. Jack Stone's ending was rather fitting too. He takes the case cause of the public profile it will help him to attain. He worked his a--- off for Nas, no doubt, even when he was dumped for a different attorney.

Honestly, if it wasn't for Jack, I don't think the Detective would've went back to give the investigation a second look. Jack's the one who installed those doubts in his mind, which proved useful despite that c---- DA not wanting to do anything with that information.

I love when TV shows go out in realistic fashion, so many use the medium of Television to exaggerate the end game, and throw in awesome shootouts or ridiculously simple evasions from harm or justice. It's awesome to have a lot of programs that steer away from taking te easy way out, wrapping up loose ends (f--- YOU LOST) and delivering something more truthful to the viewer who had faith in the writer's story, and went for a ride, not knowing the destination, but believing that it would pay off when everything was finished.

Holy f---ing s---, I hope not. TD Season 2 ruined my perception, and the faith I have in modern crime/cop dramas that I would throw into the same category, whether it's because they have similar stories, or were released around the same time.

TD Season one was spectacular. Brilliant writing, directing, story and Matthew and Woody were perfect for those roles. I had such high hopes. I figured it would be natural to assume that S2 would expect a dip in quality, I mean it's a rarity when a show doesn't experience a slump. But what happened in S2, made me feel personally insulted for assuming this show was anything like the one that'd made me a fan. HORRIBLE EVERYTHING.

Predictable plot, not only were the characters trash, but the actors were quite garbage with their idea of how to play them as well. I've never acted in my life, but that was a motherfucking shame to see four celebrities (3 who are considered A-Listers IMO) just portray these awfully written characters who lacked any ability to inspire me to hold on to the faith in the first season, that convinced me to believe S2 would be just as good. I was scared that Fargo might possibly suffer a slump like that in his sophomore year, but I was wrong because it was just as perfect as the season before it. The reason why? Cause Noah could use the S2 scripts to wipe the a----s of rabid hobos, and I'd know that Nic Pizzalotawhateverthefuck had finally done some good with the paper he'd wasted scribbling s--- ideas that made less sense than my earlier post above this one. And no one apparently had the heart to tell him the truth to his face, or they did and he was too delusional and stupid to realize they were right. I don't know. I don't know if it's been renewed, but even if it has been, I don't give anything resembling a f--- when it comes to that show.

There was one episode I watched, where it took nine viewings to actually make it through the entire episode, cause every time prior to that I had fallen asleep because it was so f---ing boring. At least he did us the favor of having all his s-----y characters murdered at the end so we didn't have to worry about watching them again.

    prison mike I'M PRISON MIKE!

    Aug 29, 2016
WARNING: This post has nothing to do with the finale. This is simply a post containing mindless rambling that I used as a way to pass the time while I waited for a file to download.

Took some ninja skills to skip past your posts @Tone Riggz

I just found a torrent for this, which makes me skeptical honestly, cause I'm usually up til 5AM scouring the internet for the new releases. I swear on every God that receives praise and worship on this planet, if some MFer tricked me into downloading this torrent, and it's not the finale, I'm gonna go Neo and track their I.P., show up at their house and commit the same f---in' crime Nas is accused of.

Honestly, usually, I'm much more capable of describing violent situations with ease, but I'm really excited to see how this show ends, so I'm just sitting here. It's at 77%. Soon as it's done, I'm slappin' this b---- on my XBox and watching it. I'm basically just typing this to pass the time.

81.8%. What the f---? When I went into the bathroom after I started this b---- it was at like 50% downloading at about 1.1 Mbps. Maybe I should just cave in and buy HBO. Nah, f--- all that. this is over with, and Vice Principals only has two episodes left. I still have to find that. I think I enjoy bootlegging cause I always wanted to be a pirate when I was really young, and I'm at an age where I've accepted this is about as close as I'm gonna get to accomplishing that dream. It's a shame, really. I dunno what I'm talking about, a pirate's life probably sucks d-ck.

88.4 % d--- you bi-polar internet speeds! d--- you to h---. I wish you were a person so I could threaten your family and make you speed this s--- the f--- up. I swear, if this isn't the right file, somebody gonna die tonight. That's actually a very empty threat. I'd never murder someone over a thing like that. That's too far. I might k--- their pet in front of them or something, but I'm not taking a human life for something like that.

I'm hoping by the time my fingers get done jogging across this f---in' keyboard I'll heard the notification on this computer telling me the file is done. So if any of these sentences end abruptly, be assured that is what happened. At this point, I'll have enough material to fill one chapter of a Game of Thrones books. They're the s--- BTW. I'm almost done with the fourth one. Cersai is a c----. I wish I was her brother. So I could f--- her, not for the sibling relationship. I wonder what drove George Martin to create such characters, and not only that, but to develop an entire universe where incest is just looked at like "It's ok. The Targaryens did it."

FINISH DOWNLOADING YOU PIECE OF s---. I'M f---in' SICK OF WAITING. I SWEAR THIS IS RIDICULOUS. LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO. YOU MADE ME BREAK OUT THE CAPS LOCK. I HATE FOR YOU GUYS TO SEE ME LIKE THIS BUT I CAN NO LONGER CONTAIN MY EMOTIONS. I'M OVERCOME WITH EXCITEMENT, ANXIETY, AND A SUPPRESSED SENSE OF DISAPPOINTMENT ALREADY BUILT UP IN CASE I'VE BEEN HOODWINKED BY TPB. I REMEMBER A TIME WHEN A PERSON COULD ILLEGALLY DOWNLOAD COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT THEIR FELLOW BOOTLEGGERS f---ing THEM OVER WITH bs. I SWEAR I'M ABOUT TO f---ing k--- SOME OKK IT'S DONE G2G BYE.
