Jan 26, 2015 Well obviously the Dems support Obama. What are they gonna do? Support Santorum instead? There is no other left wing party, meaning even if Democratic voters feel let down by Obama, most aren't going to stop supporting him over the Republicans.
Jan 26, 2015 f--- you're dumb. Obama is not up for election. When we talk about support, we're talking about near-universal approval from Democrats. You can support more than one person, or none at all. Democrats have very high approval for the President. edit: bottom line is that there is absolutely nothing in the numbers to support the idea that Democrats are disappointed in Obama overall, or that disappointment is driving approval for Hillary. Many, in fact, talk about the need for Hillary to protect or continue the work Obama started also, Hillary definitely running. Gonna be a good election- http://www.politico.com/story/2015/01/hillary-clinton-2016-elections-114586.html
Jan 26, 2015 oh, can't believe I almost forgot to mention- Sarah Palin claims she is 'seriously' considering running in 2016. Obviously she just wants to raise her profile out of relative irrelevancy so she can grift more money out of her stupid followers, but the longer she plays the game (like Trump in 2012) the more amusement we get. Pretty funny to see how badly she fails when her Teleprompter stops working (after all these years of attacking Obama for using on)
Jan 26, 2015 you're f---ing dumb if you think "the left" that is disappointed with Obama is a significantly large force. the main force of either party is not made up of politically engaged individuals on either end of the ideological spectrum. I'm not finding crosstabs anywhere right now, but I would be shocked if Obama's approval rating with Democrats is not higher than 85%
Jan 26, 2015 Ben Carson warns that gay people shouldn't order wedding cakes from "Christian" bakers because there might be poison in them. Stay classy, Republicans. http://www.advocate.com/politics/po...n-carson-gays-might-find-poison-wedding-cakes
Jan 26, 2015 they aren't :S like he said, Democrats' approval is consistently in the 85-90% range. Polls don't even remotely support your claim.
Jan 27, 2015 Dude Obama has 70% the same policies as republicans so idk how someone on the left can consider themselves happy with Obama. Unless you just don't understand US politics and vote blindly.
Jan 27, 2015 > says Obama has "70% the same policies as Republicans" > says OTHER PEOPLE don't understand US politics rofl
Jan 27, 2015 Scott Walker must feel he has some momentum coming out of Steve King's "f--- the Immigrants" convention this weekend, as he launches his committee to begin the process of running. I'm not sure if anyone else has theirs up yet, Jeb might.
Jan 27, 2015 Lol'd @ "f--- the immigrants." Obama only supports immigrants so they're more likely to vote democrat next election. Crooked, but that's how the democrat agenda rules.
Jan 27, 2015 Basically the same US foreign policy besides a few things, both parties heavily support natural resource extraction, and Obama is willing to go against civil rights like privacy and freedom of speech under the guise of "War on Terror", both are heavy supporters of capitalism, both support the war on drugs, the list goes on.
Jan 27, 2015 Avoid Immortal. He's an angry loser with long hair and family problems. Only votes Dem out of spite for his Tea Party parents
Jan 27, 2015 Didn't Lindsay Graham form one IMO Scott Walker is the guy to beat for the GOP nom. I'm well aware I'm saying this a year and a half earlier than I should be, and someone will probably quote this and mock me in 2016, but I honestly think he might be the guy to unite the establishment and the tea party vote. That schism is gonna be the big story of the primaries, far moreso than it was in 2012 I think...because you have an even clearer contrast between the so-called moderates (Christie and Romney and Bush) and the conservatives (Cruz and Carson and Perry). I used to believe Mike Pence would be that guy, but I'm increasingly convinced that Walker is in a different league (and more likely to run, too). "Basically the same foreign policy" lollll very nuanced take!! I mean jesus, even if that were true (it clearly isn't), you've got huge differences in health care policy, huge differences in education policy, huge differences in economic policies, huge differences in social policy (from gay marriage to equal pay for equal work to abortion)...I mean you didn't even scratch the surface. If you think the two parties are the same, you clearly aren't paying attention
Jan 27, 2015 He's actually not that far from the truth. Yeah on social issues they differ, but health care policy doesn't differ that much. Remember Obama had a chance to actually go for universal care, but chose to go with a more "free market" system. And lol at their economic policies being different. Maybe it's because you're American, but if you want to see true division look at the politics of Canada or any system in Europe. And to back my buddy up, their foreign policy is the same 9/10 times. From Israel to the war on terror to foreign relations etc. it's EXTREMELY similar.
Jan 28, 2015 lol. The Dem supermajority in the Senate couldn't even pass a public option, and yet this gets framed as Obama being timid. Sorry Perry....but you don't know what you're talking about
Jan 28, 2015 I think this is distracting from the fact that the parties are very similar and you guys have picked up on one point. The parties are essentially the same on numerous issues, and mosy American scholars have talked about this for years.
