Jan 28, 2015 there are many issues on which there is not a great deal of light between the parties. on other issues there are large differences. of course, that point in itself makes your original point about Hillary representing "the left" being disappointed with Obama pretty much as stupid as it originally appeared. "the left" is disappointed with Obama so they now support Hillary (who, if anything, is viewed as a more centrist establishment Democrat than Obama is) even though support for both among Democrats is near universal, but Democrats and Republicans are mostly the same. you're talking yourself into circles trying to defend a bunch of stupid things because you can't acknowledge that the first stupid thing you said was just wrong
Jan 28, 2015 Perry- let me make it really simple for you in order to keep you from straining yourself: Hillary is immensely popular within the Democratic party and the public as a whole Among her supporters, the overwhelming majority also approve of President Obama There is a left wing of the party, some of whom are disappointed in Obama. These people are trying to get Elizabeth Warren to run, or are supporting Bernie Sanders, for the most part. There are some major similarities between the parties on some issues. This is in no way related to support for Hillary among Democratic primary voters.
Jan 28, 2015 Is Perry trying to say there's not much difference between the parties, and that the GOP only opposes Obama because they're racist blowhards? Dope opinion tbh.
Jan 28, 2015 So no one has been able to dispell the fact that both parties are essentially the same outside of social issues. On the Hilary thing, yes the democratic base isn't going to abandon her, nor are they truly enthused by her. That was the point I was making.
Jan 28, 2015 lmao but you haven't proven him wrong? Just because you have your head up Obama's a--- doesn't make his policies any different from the Republicans. I said foreign policy they are similar with is true. Both are heavily capitalist in scope.
Jan 28, 2015 what he's saying is totally unrelated to the point he was originally trying to make. I already acknowledged that there are areas where there is a great deal of agreement, and some areas where there is very little difference at all, between the parties. Perry's stupidity has nothing to do with that
Jan 28, 2015 I actually am starting to agree. Rumors are swirling that the Koch's really liked what they saw, and their money is about the only thing that matters for the Republican primary. All the more reason I am going to support Hillary no matter what I may disagree with her on, because Scott Walker is an absolute disaster and she can beat him
Jan 28, 2015 People need to understand that the President is a puppet. Congress makes the laws ... midterm election are more important then presidential election.
Jan 28, 2015 There is only one party, the business party. It has two factions, Republican and Democrat.
Jan 28, 2015 well, not really. people need to understand that the President has a great deal of power, but they also need to understand that their representation in Congress and in state government is incredibly important, too. Midterm elections are very important, as well, though the House is voted on in every Presidential and midterm year, and 1/3 of the Senate is up for election every two years regardless.
Jan 28, 2015 But alot of people blame Obama for not fixing things or not getting things done. He is captain of a sinking ship.
Jan 28, 2015 well, he's really captain of a ship that was sinking and he managed to plug the leak and get it sailing again while the people who made the hole in the boat complain that it isn't fast enough
Jan 28, 2015 He fixed the leak? Really... how so? Just wondering your opinion... The leak is everlasting in my view. One man can't plug the leak. He hasn't done much, because no one will work with him. He promised alot but not alot has been done.
Jan 28, 2015 Heard Kochs like Rubio. Interesting thought @Swizz although your rationale makes me think Paul could be that bridge. I guess my one thought is that while the tea party certainly is loud and determined, history has proven GOP ultimately go with a more establishment figure... so, its not like the equation is necessarily 50/50 establishment/fringe
Jan 28, 2015 I don't think Rubio ends up making the plunge. He flirts with the idea, decides he can "better serve the country from the Senate"
