Nov 7, 2018 mixed bag last nite, but definitely some major strides for dems. winnin a gerrymandered huose - eating trumps lunch in the suburbs - is huge. governors houses in maine, kansas, wisconsin, etc and additional state house gains cant be overlooked either. nor can ballot questions that passed: florida, the medicaid expansions, etc. even the senate: flipping nevada, keeping X midwest working class states trump won in 2016. no question we took some hits here, and that hurts af (arizona?????????????????? florida? missouri? ugh) but it was a cartoonishly bad circumstance. relatively, could have been worse (if only a little!!). if i were trump id feel chastened (confirming judges and sessions replacement aside)
Nov 7, 2018 Glad to see Pete Sessions (a now former rep in my state; no relation to Jeff) lost. Mf blocked all cannabis reform legislation during his tenure. Good riddance.
Nov 7, 2018 Lol. If I’m nancy pelosi, the first thing I do when the new Congress is sworn in is open investigations for all these incidents: I want at least 10 investigations opened on day one.
Nov 7, 2018 These people s--- so hard. Also, should Beto still run for presient despite losing his own state? @Enigma
Nov 7, 2018 This is more for optics I think. Pelosi might say this but she won’t be head of any committees leading these investigations. No stone should be left unturned. Subpoena the entire f---ing White House if you have to. As for Beto, I never really wanted him as a presidential candidate, I thought of him more as a VP candidate. If I was in his position though, a presidential race is def a *real* possibility for him. I think he’d even be a front-runner with all the political stardom he has. I wouldn’t be opposed to it but he wouldn’t exactly be my first option either.
Nov 7, 2018 ...you get this is politics right? Like do you want her to flail around, the day after the election, about how she's filing impeachment? jfc dodo
Nov 7, 2018 Right. Politicians always preach for bipartisanship after every election lol that s--- never happens.
Nov 7, 2018 No, I prefer her saying the republicans are only going to get half of what they want. That inspires the base I'm sure.
Nov 7, 2018 Not "politicians". Democrats. Republicans understand opposition and that politics are about winning power and material results. Not about living out some "look how reasonable we are" fantasy.
Nov 7, 2018 I was surprised she didn't mention the widespread disenfranchisement of minority voters and s--- like Kemp's patently corrupt campaign against Stacey Abrams. We've got the lowest turnout of any "developed" nation. Seems like a pretty big talking point to me.
Nov 7, 2018 Uhhh did trump not preach for “unity,” “bringing the country together” & “bipartisanship” after he won too? It’s all bs optics.
