Being moderate makes him spineless? He’s one of the few republican candidates in 2016 who was actually critical of Trump. He constantly tried to shift the focus onto the issues rather than petty arguments about d-ck/hand sizes. That’s the opposite of spineless. Spineless is reluctantly tagging along like Paul Ryan & whenever Trump does/says something stupid, being quiet on it. Ted Cruz isn’t even liked among people in his own party. No way he has a better chance than Kasich.

If he does make it to 2020 & decides to run, he can’t run as the political outsider anymore. He’ll have a track record that people can & will use against him. Trump didn’t win the 2016 election by a large margin. He won because a couple hundred thousand blue collar voters who usually vote blue decided to take a chance on him. That’s a base that he’ll need to keep if he wants to win again. Considering the unrealistic promises he made them (bringing coal/manufacturing jobs back) I doubt he’ll be able to hold onto them.

This is all if he decides to run again which he might not if his approval ratings are so low & he doesn’t want to waste his money. Also, there’s been reports already in his first year that he doesn’t enjoy life living in the White House. That’s why they have him going to his golf resorts so frequently. He may decide, after 4 years, he’s done. Then there’s also the possibility of Mueller finding something really damaging in his investigation of Russian interference. If Dems take control of Congress next year, which is possible, and Mueller finds something that connects trump to even being aware of possible collusion — it’s a wrap.

Never said being moderate makes him spineless. I said he is moderate yet spineless. I say spineless in the sense that he was too full of pride to call his s-----y campaign quits. Perhaps spineless was the wrong word, the right word draws a blank in my mind right now. And yes, Paul Ryan is spineless, no debate there. Not being liked by most people in your party doesn’t necessarily disqualify someone from winning.

Trump keeping his blue collar base is still up in the air. And perhaps you are right, maybe he does call it quits after four years.

As far as the Mueller investigation goes, all that may come of it is what we have seen already. It ain’t over til it’s over though.

Regardless of what happens, I am dreading 2020. I highly doubt that I will find a candidate that truly appeals to me.

Well he stayed in as long as he did because the GOP establishment wanted him too. He was basically their last resort at stopping Trump.

With the recent arrests of Manafort, Gates & Papadopoulos, that only extends the length of this investigation. It’s going to be a while before we see Manafort or Gates put on trial. Whether or not they start to talk will be interesting. Also, Papadopoulos took a plea deal & is likely already cooperating with Mueller’s team. I’d be shocked if these were the only arrests at the end of the day.

I’m leaning toward Kamala Harris for 2020. She’s a relatively new face & new to politics really. I think she’d make a hella of a candidate honestly. She’s fiesty, doesn’t back down, & intelligent.

She seems to fit your politics lol.

Problem for me is that I don’t fall into the R or D label, so I have yet to find a candidate that I really like.

Thoughts on the excerpt from Donna Brazile's upcoming book? @Enigma

If it’s true, that’s terrible & someone definitely should go down for it. Accusations are just accusations without evidence though. Unless Brazile presents substantial evidence, this is all just noise. We all knew the DNC favored Clinton. The establishment wasn’t going to support the anti-establishment candidate. However, accusations of backdoor agreements in exchange for money? That’s a serious claim that needs evidence to support.

Agreed, I would also like to see more evidence. Wouldn’t be surprised if this were in fact true though.

Side question. How do you feel about superdelegates?

I don’t care for them very much but I don’t think they’re some major issue. Super delegates have never been the deciding factor in a democratic primary. So while the far-left like to shout & scream about them — it’s really not that big of a deal.

@Sign Language yeah, this is turning out to be a bunch of noise tbh. The supposed agreement that Brazile mentioned is not illegal (she says so herself) & according to other former party leaders is pretty typical. Also, both Sanders & Clinton signed it so....

Mueller reportedly has enough evidence to charge Michael Flynn and his son. Trying to determine if he laundered money too.

Also, having a loophole that lets you accept 300k donations would certainly be more beneficial to Hillary than Bernie. Just more evidence of a plutocracy. The more money you have, the more speech you have. Whoever spends more usually wins their election. It's a terrible system.

Good read. Answered some of the questions I still had on my mind but couldn’t find the answers to for obvious reasons.

    DNC shady af.

Anybody who still has faith in the democratic establishment is a stooge. It's an incompetent party of compromise. Burn it down.

Except it’s not a falsehood. This wording is within the agreement:

    E36F14AF-A2EA-48C0-843E-7072C6472262.jpeg

The memo also states that the DNC can engage in similar agreements with other candidates. This is mostly all noise. Do I wish politics weren’t like this? Sure. But this is pretty much politics per usual. The DNC did not rig the election or steal it from sanders. That’s equally as ridiculous as the president claiming “millions of illegals voted.”

Did you not read the actual article in the Tweet I posted?

And once again, both candidates being allowed to court millionaires for 300k donations is only fair if you want all of your candidates to appeal to the richest members of society.

man spent years in taliban psychological torture prison. he served his time and then some. dishonorable discharge and a fine seems like reasonable sentence imo. I'm glad he was shown some compassion.
