Jesus.... some how this isn’t all that surprising though. Platforms like google, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook etc. are struggling to deal with post 2016 “fake news” or propaganda.

i've started to see really sketchy far right ads on YouTube mobile (adblock on desktop>>>>>) lately, and i've no idea why. one was trying to basically posit some bs about how young people are being lied to and misled and only exposed to one side of the story and this college would help sort them out if they wanted a real and unbiased(ha) education. gave off this eye-roll inducing liberal = bad vibe

Can we talk about how the GOP is about to pass a tax plan that’s going to be detrimental to our economy? All you heard from Republicans during the obama administration was that he’s sky rocketing the national debt. Now, their tax plan is slated to increase the federal deficit by $2.4 trillion in the first decade.

Their tax plan is a huge tax cut for the rich at the expense of the middle/lower class. Republicans are already anticipating tax hikes in the future because they know it’s going to sky rocket the national deficit/debt. They are being huge hypocrites.

Chill, I just like to say fake news around liberals and watch what ensues. Haven't really looked into the tax plan myself.

If you make less than $100,000 a year, it’s bad.

Adam Johnson of FAIR has some good pieces on deficit hawks. I think he reported on that memo the Koch Brothers, staunch debt hawks, released saying basically to ignore it in regards to the current aim to cut down corporate tax rates showing their true colors. The best analogy I hear is how defense spending, ~1 trillion dollars annually if you go beyond Pentagon figures, is never contextualized with its affect on the debt. That shouldn't be a surprise given the various tax plans, wars, and bails even a guy like Paul Ryan has signed off on. Only when it comes to social programs do people bring it up. There are a few really good papers on "modern money theory" that kind of reframe how we think of the debt considering any money the government spends just moves to another part of our economy. The money doesn't vanish and it's nothing like balancing a chequebook for a household.

A lot of money talk is misleading imo. Like when people point to stock markets like that is an accurate measure of the typical American's finances.

2018 midterms can’t come soon enough. Should start taking bets on another recession by 2020.

We might as well just replace the government with a council of corporate CEOs at this point.

The other day, trump announced that the U.S. would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, against the advice of his advisors & Arab leaders. That has led to this:

Trump is literally making the Middle East situation worse.

Of course arab leaders would advise him not to, they hate israel. People in Palestine do anti-american s--- all the time, so don’t act like Trump magically made them anti-american.

Nothing wrong with supporting Israel. They are literally surrounded by countries that want them and their people wiped off the map.

The whole goal is to reach a two-state solution. Yes, most Arab states don’t like Israel but countries like Egypt & even Saudi Arabia would like to see a two-state solution more than anything. That’s exactly why this was an awful move. The Palestinian have already stated that Jerusalem is non-negotiable & Trump went ahead & disregarded that. They’ve already came out & stated peace negotiations will no longer be engaged as long as the U.S. sticks to this policy. The U.S. shouldn’t support Israel no matter what, they should be trying to reach common ground between both the Israelis & Palestinians.

This violence is a direct response to trump’s action. This blood is on his hands.
