Let’s not forget that this is still a proxy war between the U.S and E.U and Russia over the oil pipeline plan changes since the E.U doesn’t want to rely almost entirely on Russia for oil and Russia’s relevance relies almost entirely on its massive oil supply to the E.U. Hasn’t that always been the case with Syria?


Neither the U.S, E.U or Russia care about wahabbism or secular dictators. No one seriously cares about dictator crimes or Islamic terrorism. Terrorism is scary to the public and has affected us recently but ultimately it’s just a small temporary side effect in the eyes of the governments

U.S and E.U air strikes have killed more civilians than all of these chemical weapons attacks combined so I think we can stop pretending like we’re so outraged that people died gasping for air instead of being blown apart. It’s just a very convenient excuse


That being said Assad isn’t some anti American hero he’s just a Russian fleshlight so nothing of value is lost if he leaves. I just think secular dictators are better than wahabbists

I was reading online a couple of people filmed the area of the recent chemical attack on liveleaks and some people reckon that there was footage of like german debris or some s--- with like the chemical/toxic warning label things on them. something to that degree anyway.

But yeah this is pretty much my question, like afaik assad was winning, or doing well, why would he then just gas his own people? even if he did have a reason surely Russia would of said "actually no don't do that because then the US will probably bomb you"

There certainly is a distinction here though. Equating Assad using chemical weapons against his own people & unintended civilian casualties is disingenuous. No one likes either but the prior is obviously more heinous hence why there’s typically more outrage.
