I think most people are upset about the attacks because it could be provoking a severe response from Russia, hence the WWIII hysteria. All it really takes are some Russian forces to be killed - even in crossfire - for them to freak the h--- out

From what I read, the Russian forces in Syria are mercenaries. They are contracted by the Russian government but not exactly Russia forced. Regardless, someone has to stand up to the Russians. The global community can’t just allow Putin to prop up dictators like Assad & turn the other way.

Right. And the idea that Russia would really risk it all & got to war with global super powers over Assad is silly. The Russians only care about Assad because he’s one of their only allies in the region. If push came to shove, the Kremlin would drop him. Similar to the relationship between China/N. Korea. These regimes are being propped up for strategic geo-political reasons — that’s it.

Exactly! The only reason in my opinion that Russia is in Syria and wants to protect Syria so much is because the US is in Iraq.Then also in the same region you have Israel which is an extremely close ally to the US. Russia wants their presence known in that in that region as so does the US.........Its all a proxy war at the moment. Russia and Iran back Syrian forces and the US led coalition supports the rebels.
