is what I asked. Not "what does Russia gain from being allied with Syria". There is a distinction between the two questions. As in, any gains Russia made was overshadowed the minute the world saw them allied with "war crime committing pieces of s---"

I also referenced the fact the articles mention things like "leading analysts" and "experts" without any kind of source, or the names of these "analysts" and "experts". As opposed to say, Syrian migrants with family in Syria? Syrian social media accounts?

the articles were generalized rubbish. "well assad did it because chemical attacks are scary and he wants the rebels flushed out and too scared to continue!" (expand on that for 4 paragraphs and insert some stupid "experts say;" and a couple quotes from Turkish/Belgian/middle eastern non-syrians.
