-his Economic Adviser Just Took $285 Million From Goldman Sachs
- his first excutive order was raising the tax on middle class payers

Just gonna talk to myself a little.

"Gay men are pedophiles" and "being gay is the result of molestation" should be dealt with by being dismissed as the inaccurate stereotyping they are. Not by pretending that f---ing the children who deal with discrimination and insecurity is the only way to help them. That's gross apologetics.

I mean, I'm not condoning molestation lol. Clearly that's a thing. I'm just saying there's cultural factors at play that get overlooked in these discussions. And - for that matter - a degree of hypocrisy given recent history. I'm not even stipulating what's "culturally acceptable any longer" - just trying to suggest there's greater context given the VERY recent history of these groups being closeted and ostracized. Need to know why things happen, and not stridently judge things through a too narrow lens. Not binary.

Yeah, still sounds like apologetics speak for not raking someone endorsing molestation as a beneficial practice over the coals. The lesson you should learn from that context is that those relationships were always gross, not that we should turn the other cheek now as some form of reparation lel. There's exceptions everywhere - my only point. If a heterosexual teenage girl can marry an older man, why can't a gay teen the same age have a relationship?

While there's certainly instances where teenagers are being molested, which is awful and despicable, you can't speak for every relationship. Context matters.

I'll agree that age of consent/marriage is kind of an arbitrary divider that will never fit every relationship perfectly. I don't see a better system. Gay and straight couples should all be subject to the same age of marriage/consent stuff.

I don't see what that has to do with our discussion about young men being taken advantage of under the guise of leadership. Especially considering that the threshold we're specifically talk about his 13 or whenever somebody enters puberty. How does that seem less arbitrary? Really just opens the door to fetishists who prey on kids.

Well in my defense I'm not agreeing with 13 as the threshold. I'm taking issue with the characterization that all teenage-"mentor" relationships are inherently inappropriate. Plenty are I'm sure! Increasingly there's a stridency and good intentioned rush to judgments that I object to; one size does not fit all. Especially given the historic context of gay youth being cast out from their support systems -- and the arbitrary nature and hypocrisy of one sided heterosexual relationships (hence the link lol)
