Sep 20, 2019 if youre not using a clear multi in your rap song, i dont even see why 1-syllable rhymes should be highlighted, its just a stretch to make lyrics look better than they are would you highlight a whole song that uses just 1-syllable multis? no, cuz theres no point, people arent dumb
Sep 20, 2019 no, but like I said theres songs with better examples, theres some verses where the inner rhyme scheme contains a syllable that's separate from the outter and beginning, or the scheme shares a syllable that's not necessarily the end rhymes, I agree it shouldn't of been done on this one. but I think youre giving people too much credit for not being dumb lol
Sep 20, 2019 i know exactly what end / start rhymes youre talking about and i covered that in my example lol go look again, the orange highlights the temporary rhymes added onto the main rhyme scheme, thats the fix, not the garbled mess i see genius doing the point of highlighting is to make it easier for people to see where the artist actually put all the rhyme schemes and make it easier to digest, making every syllable a different color cuz you wanna pretend the artist intentionally rhymed "hit", "think", "people" and "the" in random parts of the verse is beyond r-----ed

Sep 21, 2019 so what is Em’s focus for this album? We know what we get when there isn’t a clear purpose or theme (Revival). I genuinely think he’s as good as he’s been since TES right now, and is just lacking a) youth and b) the element of surprise I’d hope he sticks to the Kami formula of less pop/more rap although it would be crazy to see him with a LTWYL level hit at this point as well.

I think as poppy as we might get anymore is good guy. which im fine with I liked good guy. but I think hes gonna stick to his more aggressive roots, and talk about hip hop, go more in depth on his legacy, and actually pop some s---. I mean so many rappers brag about what they've done and EM has never really let that out. he finally mentioned it about sick of being humble, and he touched on his money situation in killshot. "cut my mother f---ing fan base in half and still out sold you" "aint been into diamonds since I put my first record out, but I could put a chain around my 2nd album and wear it as a neck medallion" if EM really wanted to flex with his legacy he could. but if anyone has the right to brag and boast its him, biggest selling rapper ever, I believe the 12th or 13th highest selling act of any genre ever, biggest selling artist of any genre from 00 to 10 and highest selling rapper from 10 to 20, and in those times wasn't fully active, has some albums that dropped the ball and still maintained that spot. Kamikaze was as much about his reaction to the fans reaction as it was about hip hop. he doesn't have that personal drama, but he has some tortured artist turmoil and a love and grasp on the genre and I think his next project will really dig into that deeper
