Sep 25, 2019 Better how? Can’t say any of them are better sonically. Lyrically? I mean ems style is completely different to drake. Em just packs syllables into his verses, and by doing that the sonic appeal to his music disappears. Em also relies on generic YouTube hooks lol. Eminem can’t make a better song than Drake in 2019. Sure he is a better lyrical rapper but Eminem sonically has been trash for ages. Also this decade Eminem’s catalogue consists of 70% fake love songs so you can easily compare the two in terms of content. Drake remains relevant whilst Em is a goof and has been lumped with the corny rappers. just remember the same guy who made greatest etc has way more misses than hits this decade. Revival was outdated before it even dropped and Kamikazes greatest appeal is that is sounds sonically relevant (sometimes). Em makes awful songs but he raps fast and packs a lot of words smh
Sep 25, 2019 If, amongst the songs that I specifically mentioned, all you could see was a bunch of syllables packed, then you need to revisit them again once. And generic youtube hooks? couldn't find one on Kamikaze, and that is exactly why I said that I would have agreed if Em hadn't dropped Kamikaze. Sonically appealing is always subjective, but lyrical ability isn't. And yes, Em is a far superior lyricist to Drake, Drake doesn't even come close. This, however doesn't mean that Drake isn't a good lyricist, he definitely is. This could've been true about the Shady XV era Em. But the Kamikaze era Em knows how to spit flows while saying a thing or two. Drake has been on the same s--- for years, he is a talented hit maker for sure, but his flows have been stale for years, and the same goes for his subject matter. And awful songs? The Ringer was awful lol?
